Wow- So HD you admit the Republicn persecution of gays is just to win elections? I assume with your background in theater you have "plenty of gay friends"- how do you square the Republican position with that? Are you really willing to let politcians you've never even met throw your friends under the bus for politically gain?

So, you people will support one of the majority of dem candidates who DO NOT support gay marriage?
you people=you BWW people with the warped, overwhelming gay lens that narrows your educations and slants your world view...

HD, if your in New York why is the hell are you posting on a message board? I think this is just another one of your numerous lies for the hour. Why do you care who we support? You hate gay people!

"How sad.
Don't you realize that the rest of the world isn't peering through your narrow little lens?"
Oh HT, I just love when you make a totl fool out of yourself.
A. The rest of the civilized world do not find this to be an issue, so no "peering" is needed.
B. It's obviously important enough that the candidates realze the size of the gay voting bloc and found it large enough to do this.
Now slither back under your rock in O-Why?-O

Why do you let HD jack otherwise relevant threads? I wasn't able to catch the debate, but I'd appreciate hearing the impressions of those who did.

Back to the topic at hand...a few things I noticed:
1. Edwards is a wonderful speaker (the best of the bunch, imho)
2. Kucinich is right, but weird.
3. I "got" Gravel for the first time.
4. Richardson is a putz, and has (I'm certain) lost any hope of being elected.
5. Clinton was, as usual, very well spoken and political.

Yes, Mr. Bellini really must give up the Hot Pockets and shakes for high tea. And Robert Hall suits.
But if I may be even more shallow: how the hell does John Edwards look like that? Jeesh, we're the same age. He looks younger than he did three years ago. I'll have what he's having.

touchmeinthemorning, I agree with everything you said. RIchardson is done in my opinion and checking the blogs this morning even supporters of his have turned their backs. He sounded unprepared and should have stayed home.Edwards is a great speaker.Kucinich is weird but I like him.I hope he gets a nice job when a Democrats wins in 2008.

I'm actually an Edwards fan...but thought he was just a little slick last night (well...every night...but I was hoping for something a little different). But to be honest, I appreciated the fact that he was truthful about him not supporting gay marriage. However...does anyone seem to think that this talk of the 'journey' he's on towards accepting gay marriage is not really all that long a journey? That he just might be playing it safe right now?
Obama was Obama and I like him alright. But he does read as kinda 'green' to me. And not 'green' in the tree-hugging way.
Last night was the first night I 'got' Hillary. I may not agree with her, but Christ is she impressive. She managed to be warm and relaxed and real-seeming without giving up any of her commanding presence.
In the end, I'm gonna vote for Kucinich in the primary. But I won't feel particularly compromised to vote for any of the three "top-tier" in the general.

That is really desperate. You make no sense.
I never said that word. You made it up. it is funny, but you get ALL the credit.
Stop trying so hard to be like Craig and Namo. They pull it off a lot better than you.

God help me, I might actually vote for Gravel (and not because of last night but a culmination of things), unless it looks like Obama might have a fighting chance in New York, in which case I'd vote for him. But I'm feeling increasingly less uneasy about casting a vote for Clinton in the general election, should she be the candidate.

We all know the truth HD.Something you wouldn't knwo anything about. You have to admit its a bot off for you to "be in NYC' and for you to do so much posting on a message board.Isn't that odd even by your standards? Why is that HD?

I've actually been against Hillary for a long time. But I'm starting to come around, quite honestly. Not enough to cast my vote for her in the primaries...but I don't think I'd have as much of a problem voting for her in the general.
She really, truly is impressive and seems very presidential. And somehow, she's doing that without coming off as...God I hate this term...a dragon lady.

What did Gravel say about politicians? That they tell you to "go to hell," and you actually look forward to the trip? That's how I've felt about Hillary, and I think she'd throw us gays under the bus as quickly as her husband did should it be the politically expedient thing to do.
But yes, robbie, she does have "it." Or perhaps my judgment is impaired by watching the buffoon in the office for the last seven years.
eta: robbie, maybe if we TALK REALLY LOUD we can overshadow the distracting macaw in the corner.

Please...my grandmother has "it" more than the buffoon...and she's DEAD!
Gravel said, "Politicians will send you right to hell and make you look forward to the trip." or some such thing.
Speaking of macaws...my friends had birds in college...their names? Greeny and Bluey...cause, well...I imagine you can guess. They were just nasty little things and no one, not even their owners, liked them. We'd just sit around and throw beer bottle caps at them.
