I'm looking to sell my signed OBC Wicked window card and I was wondering a) how much something like that would go for and b) where I could sell it. During my google search the only numbers that should up were from ebay and they were in the range of $3000. I've never sold any broadway memorabilia before and I'd appreciate any honest advice I could get.
I'll give you that 30.00 you're asking for.
I actually can help on this one.
1. Did both Idina and Kristen sign it?
2. Are their names fully legible or is it more like they are both squiggles
3. Was it signed by any other principles from the cast? (Norbert Leo Butz, Joel Gray, Carole Shelley, Michelle Federer, Christopher Fitzgerald) and if so, are their names legible?
4. Did anybody else important to the production (Steven Schwartz, Winnie Holzman, Joe Mantello, or Wayne Cilento) sign it, and if so, are their names legible?
5. Did any of the ensemble sign it? These signatures may detract from the value of the poster depending.
If you have all of these and the poster is in near-mint condition, yes you could sell it for $3000 dollars or a lot higher, but otherwise if you just have most or some of these factors you are looking at between $500 and $750, because the only ones that collectors are willing to pay so much for will be complete with everything.
Idina and Kristin's signatures are both clear and written on their respective witches (Kristin's in pink. Bonus points for cuteness?). It's the entire original broadway cast so that includes carole Shelley, Joel grey, etc. As for the creative team, I don't think any of their signatures are on it. The poster was purchased thanksgiving weekend 2003 as a part of a broadway cares fundraiser so I believe it's just the cast. The poster has been in a frame for the past ten years so the condition is great. I'll post of picture of it later when I have a computer in front of me (typing from my phone).
I'm looking for a place in New York where I can have it appraised and then possibly sold.
I'm just having a hard time believing that people actually spend that much money on Wicked posters.
That link is not proof that people spend that much money on Wicked posters. That's proof that someone is delusional enough to think that they could get that much for a Wicked poster.
It looks like Stephen Schwartz did sign it. You could probably get $2000 for it but listing it for nearly $4000? Nah.
Great poster. Outrageously priced.
