"one would hope family trumps fame"
And didn't Madonna herself sing about this very theme again and again and again and again on album after album after album? She never was one to break much new ground lyrically.

I don't charge 350 dollars a seat for you to listen to me nor do I demand you aerobicize along with me.
Speaking of, did you catch The View ladies going off on that very issue last week? They sounded like me after that atrocious Confessions tour.
Eventually everybody comes to see it my way. The View ladies. Even you will jrb.

See? You wonder why I bring up the issues again. No, she did not make me buy a ticket, and to be truthful, I had one of the "cheap" $165 seats. The View ladies reported that Madonna berated a poor sap of a paying customer to stand up. Thing is, when you pay for a seat, you pay for a seat.
I didn't appreciate her doing the same thing when I saw that atrocious Confessions show. That's what I hated the most about that show, you know, the one with that incredibly artistic crucifixion scene. Snicker.

Therapy. Or a good martini.
Well I enjoyed the Confessions Tour, so I can't relate with you there.
And, everytime I've seen her say those things, they seemed to be tongue in cheek, but I can see how it can be a bitchy thing.
Here's the thing: I don't think anyone's perfect, so I can still like them despite their flaws. I don't need to abandon them loudly and obsessively when they do something I don't agree with.
And as always, and I know so many BWWers get so mad when I say this--how high and mighty I am to judge--but it's such a watse of time and energy to dwell on the stuff we hate.
But it's your time and energy.

No, but you have to obsessively defend or restate how you're above judgement, jerbs. That's kind of the flip side of the coin.
And I still think Like a Prayer and Erotica are two of the greatest albums of all time.

#86re: Madonna getting divorced?

No. LOL But it's actually fun to think it might be about Bening.
I don't imagine everything anyone writes is autobiographical. It could have been inspired by anyone or anything.
I wrote a song a few months ago that sounds like a breakup song. I wrote it about the month and a half of living hell my cable company put me through. lol
Another song I wrote seems to be about someone fighting to keep their partner from leaving/cheating on them--well the song is, but it was actually inspired by someone I only dated a few times, but really liked.

I guess because virtually everything I write is ripped from the headlines of my life, I kind of assume other people are like that, too, you know? I want it to be Bening, too, though, because of the line "think she can have his child but anybody can do it," and there's rumor that Madonna did get pregnant by Beatty and subsequently had an abortion.
And mentioning she may have an abortion is in no way meant to be a slam on Madonna. I wish there were MORE abortions in the world.

Aren't we all pro-abortionists? According to McCain?
I imagine most people do indeed "write what they know".

Christopher apparently had very little to do with the conception of the Blonde Ambition tour but did help out on the show in some capacity.
Thje only one he is really responsible for was the Girlie Show which is largely considered her worst world tour.Critics were not won over by the Girlie Show and compared it badly to Blonde Ambition

Posted: 10/18/08 at 3:21pmAwww I liked the Girlie Show! The critics hated it because they hated everything she did then. It was the Erotica/Sex years when they bashed everything she did. Including the album Erotica which in retrospect is one of her best albums ever.
