re: Man kills himself at Ground Zero due to Bush's reelection

Wow. That's so sad. I'm sick of people making it seem like Bush's re-election is the end of the world. I kid about moving to Canada, but really...read Michael Moore's 17 Reasons Not To Slit Your Wrists! And at the very least, do something to change the situation! The other 49% are still on your side!

It's tragic. Really.

that is 2 blocks from my apt .... i didn't even see/hear the police this morning (and i across the street from the station). god this is so sad. i know it is sad and tragic to everyone, yet somehow knowing someone killed themselves while i was sleeping 2 blocks away is kind of creepy. one more body to add to that site. so sad.

Someone is dead, and the best epitaph you can come up with is "attention whore"? Very nice, you prick.

ETA- An attention whore would have blown himself up or set himself on fire, not died so quietly people would think he was asleep. And he would have at the very least left a suicide note.

You expect me to type everything I think?
You assume that I only thought one line?
It's never a good thing that someone suffers from depression so severe they take their own lives. I never said it was. I merely called him an attention whore.

Westopher is RodentK. Do you really think it's a coincidence that RodentK stopped posting right around the same time that Westopher showed up? Their mentally challenged views and lack of class are identical. Westopher is Banjo Boy, I tell you!

I don't give a flying **** if Westopher is actually Karl Rove.

And I doubt he killed himself over just that. Clinical depression is an ugly thing, and the election may have just been a final reason rather than the main one. The connection is tenuous anyway- read the article again, without the headline.

CatsNY, you're absolutely right about "reelection." My apologies.

As for the rest of you -- is it really necessary to turn this thread into an argument over someone's sensitivity (or lack thereof) to death? Do like I do and just ignore posts by posters you consider to be trolls.

re: Man kills himself at Ground Zero due to Bush's reelection

I'm sure it is over much more than just that but honestly, and I'm saying this only because it's true...the media is a very liberal machine so they will spin it so it sounds like this can be blamed on the re-election.
And hang on, when did you win the discus?

re: Man kills himself at Ground Zero due to Bush's reelection

If someone kills them self in a fashion meant to garner media attention, they are an attention whore. I find this highly irrefutable. That's the definition of the phrase.

Plum... I'm just saying that you have to take whatever he says with less than a grain of salt. He's a brainless moron. His only reason for existence is to make ignorant, inflamatory remarks in order to stir things up. He isn't worth taking seriously.

re: Man kills himself at Ground Zero due to Bush's reelection

I'm not talking about Fox or this article specifically. I'm talking about in general. I guarantee you that if it ends up being all over most places (because at least in New York theres a heck of a lot more liberal media than there is conservative) it'll be spun that way. It's just the way things are going to be right now. The more people can link it to this the more they will.

re: Man kills himself at Ground Zero due to Bush's reelection

I pointed out that I don't even think that this suicide was meant to catch media attention. He shot himself in a subway station in such a manner that no one even noticed until someone thought he was asleep in there. He didn't stand on the sidewalk and scream "I hate Bush!" then shoot himself. He didn't set himself on fire. He didn't even leave an anti-Bush note. The whole election connection is just a matter of inference. So stop with the attention whore crap.

ETA- You're the attention whore, and a pretty pathetic one, at that. Go to hell; I'm not responding anymore.

Plum is right. If they said he screamed he hated Bush then shot himself in the head in a public place or something like that then okay, attention whore it would be.
