What has given you the most pleasure in the last year?
Meeting Patronus and Anjilly last November and getting to know them better since then.
If you could be anyone you wanted to be today, who would you be, and what would you do?
I’d be Patti Lupone and get to do two performances of Sweeney Todd today!
If your house were on fire, what would you grab on the way out?
Assuming that my husband and cats are safe, my photographs, everything else is replaceable.
If we asked an important person in your life to describe you, what would he or she say? How accurate would it be?
I asked Penguin and he said that I’m interesting, easy to talk to, and nice. I guess that’s accurate, but I can be awfully b*itchy when I’m tired. And just because it’s the nicest thing anyone’s ever said about me, this is what my sister said about me on Friendster, “Yoda is like getting a fresh bouquet of flowers for no reason.”
What’s something that you’ve never done, but have always wanted to try?
I want to go to Florida and swim with the Manatees!
Meeting Patronus and Anjilly last November and getting to know them better since then.
Right back at you, sweetie!
On a somewhat related note...I have to say that Sara is one of the best huggers I have ever had the pleasure of getting squeezed by.
Sorry my answer was so pathetic. I get really panicky under pressure.
Great answers though.
Awww! To both!
Penguin you're the very best. And Stephen you are a close second.
Ok so I feel like asking some questions.
What is the weirdest thing you own?
Who are 5 authors everyone should read at some point?
Favorite book as a teenager?
Favorite movie you have seen in the past 6 months?
All time?
Favorite resturant?
Oh and Yoda is completely kick *ss.
What is the weirdest thing you own?
Does Clay count?
Who are 5 authors everyone should read at some point?
John Shelby Spong, he is writing some of the most important contemporary religious works
Shakespeare, his influence on the literary canon is too important to ignore
Christopher Moore, he is one of the most talented contemporary writers
This isn’t one author, but everyone should have a general understanding of Greek and Roman mythology. In college I was shocked by the number of English majors who had no understanding of mythology, which is referenced constantly in the literary canon.
And I know I’ve used him as an answer all over the place today, but Pat Conroy, he’s my favorite author and writes such beautiful books, he’s a master of the English language.
Favorite book as a teenager?
Gone With The Wind
Favorite movie you have seen in the past 6 months?
I don’t go to the movies much generally and saw even fewer than usual this year. Out of the approximately three I saw my favorite was probably Brokeback Mountain.
All time?
Shakespeare in Love, after I saw it I walked around for days randomly exclaiming, “I just saw the best movie!”
Favorite resturant?
Orso for fancy eating and V&T or Toast for more everyday eating.
No Clay doesn't count
ooo good answers! And i completely agree on the mythology thing. I got hooked in fourth grade and it helps out so much!
One last bump for Yoda.
one last TURTLE KISS for yodamarie as her 24 hours of glory ends
One last HUZZAH! for Yoda on her big day.
Enjoy your last 35 minutes!
One last question....
What one piece of wisdom, in Yoda speak, would you share with all of us?
Sara, I've really enjoyed your answers. And I love the fact that you're a librarian--a profession I once considered.
Last question: what would be your idea of the perfect day?
What one piece of wisdom, in Yoda speak, would you share with all of us?
Beware of CGI you should! Once you start down the dark path forever will it mar the legacy of your movies.
Brilliant
Last question: what would be your idea of the perfect day?
The perfect day would have to begin with sleeping as late as I want and waking up with Clay. There would also have to be nothing in particular that must be done, a nice long walk, much laziness, sunny but cool weather, and a long leisurely dinner with a select few friends and much good conversation.
Well Kitz, you are certainly cool enough to join the ranks of librarians if you ever change your mind.
Yoda is the best.
Well, it's that time again!
First of all thank you to everyone who stopped by yesterday! Previous Celebrities have been correct; answering the questions is hard work, but it was totally worth it.
In the tradition of the illustrious position of CotD, I wanted to choose a successor who I don’t really know much about and would like to get to know better. So after a long agonizing debate I’ve decided to pass the honor on to someone whose posts I always enjoy reading, someone who knows when to be serious and when a little snark is necessary. A fellow acolyte in the church of Sondheim…
Sorry Grateful!
