I hope you have your own private physician on hand, Diva.
Look at all the good it did Michael Jackson.

Lisa Marie Presley had an interview in today's post. She basically predicted this would happen and that she tried to have him clean up his act when they were married

Why was he taking Xanax, Zoloft and Paxil all at the same time? That doesn't make any sense. They're all for anxiety. Why would anyone need to be taking three anxiety pills at the same time?

Because that's what Elvis did?

Sometimes Doctors mix the antidepressants together if one isn't working properly. I've heard of mixing two, but not three.

All I can think is he must have built up a tolerance and so "they" increasd the doses. Seriously, I have given people 300mg of dilaudid every 6 hrs w Breakthru, people can take very high doses. But freakin Demarol? A drug that has a very short life and frankly is only useful for short term post op pain and rigours.... When he's on dilaudid? Talk about a Dr Feelgood...

Yikes. I only recognize two names on that list. And I only used those when I need a attitude adjustment.

I was on Zoloft and Wellbutrin for a while. The cocktail is supposed to work better for generalized depression. He could have been on Zoloft and Paxil for depression and Xanax for anxiety. Xanax is often prescribed with an anti-depressant.
I have taken them all except Vistaril and Prisolec. (Is that a misprint of Prilosec?) Dilaudid was my lover twice when I had a kidney stone. I thought I was going to die. Then they put Dilaudid in my IV and I was loving EVERYone.

I once had surgery and when I woke up I was in severe pain. I heard myself yelling out "give me demarol, give me demarol!" although I had never heard of demarol. LOL!
Anyway, it rocked!

Maybe you heard the doctors or nurses talking about demerol when you were under anesthesia and processed it somehow, Jane.
Didn't Heath Ledger also have an arsenal of doctors to go along with his many meds? I'm sure MJ is the only tip of the iceberg when it comes to celebs and their enabler-docs.

No Roxy. Lisa Marie Presley did not give an interview to the Post. Lisa Marie Presley wrote a blog entry on her MySpace page and the Post cut and pasted it as did many, many other sources. It says very clearly in the article that they are referring to her blog. Do you just skim these things before coming to BWW and rehashing parts of articles as newsflashes?

My mom, a former RN, couldn't believe that he was on demarol.

haha, that's pretty funny. Odds are you probably heard a doctor or nurse talking about it when you were out or semi-conscious. That's very common.

Yes, Xanax is usually just for anxiety, and you are not supposed to take a ton of it at a time, as it generally works instantly. Isn't it a tranquilizer actually? I forget.

Jeez, I think I'm missing all the fun. Other than common antibiotics, I've never taken anything stronger than tylenol or OTC cold meds.

I took a lovely Xanax before bed last night. I may enjoy it's company again tonight.

Vistaril is used to make an injection of Demerol more potent. Back in the day when I used to be a staff nurse, the two were always given together.
Xanax is an anti-anxiety drug. Kinda mild and "takes the edge off", at least in normal doses. Paxil and Zoloft seem redundant, as both are antidepressants of a similar type.

I have insomnia due to not being able to, "turn it off," so to speak. Anything I have worked on during the day or need to work on tomorrow runs through my head non-stop. When it's bad, a Xanax is the best thing to calm my mind down.
