Jorge, Florida is a red state, I think it has most to do with Latinos, over the years, are moving towards the GOP. It was a better than expected day for me. I knew Florida was red. I think Jay started this thread and was pessimistic, I bet he or she is feeling a little relieved this AM.

Latino Floridians don't like the socialist leaning Democrats now, so they turned Republican. Not surprising it's a Red state now. Pennsylvania appears to have turned blue though and possibly Arizona, too. So much for that red wave everyone was predicting.

I'd still like to know why worrying about fascism and climate change means there's something desperately wrong with me. Maybe the two people who upvoted this personal abuse can explain it to me?

Here's some friendly advice from the Earth Hour website you told us about back in March.
"
Transport accounts for around a quarter of CO2 emissions globally. Climate change isn’t going anywhere unless we change how we get everywhere.
- Instead of taking the car, take public transport
- Even better, bike or walk! You'll be keeping yourself and the planet healthy.
- If you have to drive, check your car's engine and tire pressure regularly to maximize fuel efficiency
- Planning a holiday? Explore local destinations before looking overseas! You might be surprised how many hidden gems your city or country has to offer.
- If you have to fly, fly direct - layovers mean more takeoffs and landings, which cause most of a plane's carbon emissions. Also do your research and choose airlines that invest in carbon offsetting programs."

I don't know why you feel the need to tell us about Donald Trump's announcement, I won't be listening, or giving it any publicity.
Joe Biden's one mission was to get Trump out of the White House. Ron DeSantis is the one who is going to decide both tickets. If it's anyone but Donald, I don't think Biden will run.

He'd be better off waiting until Georgia is done with their run-off. The GOP essentially lost badly yesterday and there was no red wave like everyone predicted. Most people that #45 backed ended up losing. He's losing steam quickly and he's apparently not happy right now. A DeSantis vs Trump GOP ticket battle for 2024 will be very ugly and only further destroy the GOP.

"An 18 year old man from Middlesex County, New Jersey, has been arrested and charged with threatening to attack a synagogue and Jews earlier this month, an episode that led to warnings from the FBI of a broad security risk to synagogues in the state" New York Times, today, 2022.
Not at all like Germany 1933, no.

I see the GOP throwing everything at DeSantis at this point. They know Biden would easily beat #45 again. However, I see DeSantis as an absolute terror for this country if he gets in for 2024.

"Aw Zeppie, you're brand new so I will give you the skinny so you don't waste your time. We are Democrats. We are Liberals. We actually believe in equal rights and respect women. I happen to be a woman so that is important. We want to protect reproductive rights, trans youth, gay marriage, etc. In other words, we care about people and are not sociopaths.
I may be new but it is not exactly a shock that an entertainment site would be fairly liberal, thanks for the news flash. You really must think people are quite naive.
"This isn't the place for you. A dozen people on here tried to defend the GOP and belittle us. Doesn't work. In fact, it will make you miserable because the mocking and dismissing will be non stop. Trust. "
Just wondering, how I belittled anyone. I did not call anyone names like another poster did about millions of people. I said I felt bad that Mr. Pelosi got attacked. I think myself and many others thought the attacker was just some nut and not due to Jan 6th. I will admit that I like many other pollsters were wrong and Democrats did better overall than expected in 2022 elections
"Feel free to comment on shows or ask questions about theater. But, don't bother sharing your political opinions. They don't matter here. Try Truth Social or, like, a clan rally. Thanks! "
Sorry Ma'am but you don't tell me what to do. I find your mention of sharing my beliefs at a clan rally pretty damn offensive and know you probably don't care.

Zeppie, JLZ is correct, you should find somewhere else to chat. This is a Liberal Progressive chat room for the most part. I'm not a fan of any GOP policies, broken off a good chunk of lifetime family and friends. In my opinion anyone in the GOP who voted for, didn't stand up and say no is a traitor. The last 6 years have made it abundantly clear who the a**holes are. You are one of many. I bear you no ill will. Like some of my brothers and sisters and former friends you have exposed yourselves, we now know how dumb you all are now, when maybe before we were unsure.
