Minorities exist. The thing is that we need to accept that.

The only thing it means, is that when 100 people audition for a role, and that group fully represents society, that would still mean that, for example, only 12% of the actors is black. That means there is an 88% chance the role goes NOT to a black person. That goes for every role.

Accepting that, is accepting facts.

Not accepting that, and demand a certain amount of roles for a certain minority, is rude.

It's about the amount of chance for a role, not about the amount of roles.

Making the level of "chance" equal, (which would be 50 black people versus 50 white people auditioning in this case) is therefore the epitome of racism.

Dave19 when white people and white men (especially) are represented in roles (especially good ones) at a rate even approaching one no greater than their percentage of the general population (let alone at their present rate which exceeds their presence in the general population - even just the American general population - by a mammoth leap and bound), we can talk about your "accepting facts" argument.

Until then, sorry, the numbers are not on your side of this debate.

Well, you either want representation compared to the population or you don't. It seems to me that less gets you upset? Or more gets you upset? Sounds like a double agenda.

The real argument here is what you think equality means. A mandatory amount of black people cast per show or a mandatory amount of black people invited per role?

Impossible. Would only be slightly possible with blind auditions. You don't see those happening anywhere, do you?
