Luke really steals the show again and again.
Yeah, Luke's punchlines are like stealth bombs; I never see them coming.
I loved the scene in the car with Manny and Jay, where he tells him he's the bravest kid he knows. They always handle the emotional stuff so beautifully; they never wallow in it, and it always lands. And then there's always one more great joke.
Last week's episode and last night's episode were two of my favorites. I think I am so going to start using "Son of Jor-El!", too funny!
I thought last night's episode was excellent. Loved seeing that side of Jay.
Got to give best moment to Luke again: "IF she comes back" staring dead into the camera. We rewound to watch again.
I know! I think that might have been Luke's first take to the camera.

My favorite quote from Luke, "Oh yeah and I'm the weak one."

Bump for Lin-Manuel Miranda was a would-be dog whisperer.

For once my favorite character in a week wasn't Luke (though his line about being 12 and needing limits was hilarious). Phil took it for me -- his look at the girls when they went to get food was priceless.
I thought it was just an OK episode, which is still better than the vast majority of programs. I prefer episodes where there is more interaction between the households, and this episode lacked that.
Also, I think Ed O'Neill is having a terrific season, and should be considered for recognition when the next awards season rolls around.
Here's a question - if Lin Manuel Miranda won a guest star Emmy (not that I think he will, but if) would that officially put him 3/4 of the way to the EGOT? Did he personally win one for the In the Heights album?
I agree that the interactions between households usually make for the best stories - I did love the Manny with the Dunphys stuff - but Ty Burrell was on fire last night.

Oh please! Any actor could have played that part as well. It was exceptionally unremarkable. No Emmy for Lin.
On the other hand...Phil sending the girls to clean up Luke's vomit
was wonderful!
Girls: But we're HUNGRY!
Luke: You won't be in a minute.
That dog is too cute! And yeah, Phil was hilarious last night!

"He's still full from the Bad Dog treat."
Oh, I don't think he'll get one. Not even close. I was saying hypothetically, he would be one away, wouldn't he?
I'm really rooting for Ty Burrell to win one - he's hilarious.
Duct tape on the laptop -genius! All I could think was how hard it was going to be to get that off later!

I thought Gloria's reactions were great.
I find it interesting that even when I agree with people about a show, we disagree about specific episodes. So many people seem meh over this one and I thought that it was really great, maybe an episode that would be considered seminal down the line. Everyone got a chance to be a little bit ridiculous, and the result - to me - was one of the more laugh out loud shows in recent memory.
