Ona Munson, left, as Mother Goddamn in the film version of The Shanghai Gesture. (The name had to be changed from "Mother Goddamn" to "Madame Gin Sling" for the movie censors.)
Ona Munson (who also played Belle Watling in Gone With the Wind) was very good in the role, but Bette would have been better.
