"Jane, I agree! Ellen Burstyn broke my heart. I wish she had won the Oscar that year"
I will never get over the travesty of how she was robbed of that oscar-by Julia Roberts.
I think Burstyn's performance was one of the best I've ever seen on screen. Maybe THE best.

Schindler's List is the best film that I will never watch again.
Our senior pastor used a clip from the movie as a sermon illustration on Sunday. I started crying before the clip even rolled. On Monday, during Worship Team meeting, I instructed her, very politely of course, to never, ever again use Schindler's List as a sermon illustration.

Why? I wish the pastors I grew up with were that creative.

Ok, I'm a sentimental idiot, but I always burst into tears during the final scene of "An Afair to Remember" and, yes, "Sleepless in Seattle."
I also well up when I hears the music for the final scene of "Edward Scissorhands."
The final scene in "Schindler's List" ripped me to shreds.
I cannot bring myself to watch "Misery," and I don't know why.

Testament, totally...
When Jane Alexander is sewing up her dead children's funeral shrouds, I completely lose my mind.

Borstal, I didn't tell her never to use film clips again; I just don't want her to use Schindler's List!
Robb, our pastors often use clips from films, TV shows and videos that we have produced to help illustrate ideas or points in their sermons.

Twice this year I saw two films where I had to look away because I couldn't bare watching certain scenes. It's the first time since I was 11 that I had to do that.
SPOILERS!
Syriana- The torture scene with George Clooney
Little Children- After Ronnie's mother dies and he basically loses it in the kitchen, I don't know exactly what happened because I wasn't looking but I remember thinking "Jealous, that's too ****ing realistic."

BAMBI - it breaks my heart when the mother dies
THE LION KING - it breaks my heart when the father dies
CARRIE - I feel so awful for Carrie
RUBY BRIDGES - This movie is one of Disney's best, and one of its saddest

DBillyP: Was that Jo? Or Joy?
I remember her sermon about lust, and how she used a new volvo as an illustration. Great fun!
I miss CoH.

I'd definitely agree with Requiem for a Dream. I was left absolutely speechless for hours after watching it.
Sophie's Choice
United 93
And the Band Played On (I can't watch this without breaking down)
Silence of the Lambs

I've never heard of the United CoC.
I grew up going to Park Avenue Church of Christ, in Denison, and Northside, in Bonham.
What's the difference between United and the regular?

I have 2. First being Brokeback Mountain. Way to emotional for me. I almost lost it in the theater. I own, but have only have ever sat throught it once on DVD. The ending kills me everytime.
The second. Angels in America. Not only because it is 6 hours. But they're are two scenes that get me as well. When Prior begs for his boyfriend in the hospital and Louis won't see him. The second, when Joe "comes out" to his mother on the phone. That is pretty gut wrenching to watch. I still have yet to make it through the entire thing for a second viewing
