Okay, the 13th preview of "Dracula" hasn't happened yet and I am not going to see it but here is what I think:
The show is very atmospheric and moody. Portraying a dyspeptic dystopia of gothicness that finally brings to the stage the tortured world of the living dead, "Dracula" is the show that "Dark Shadows" fans like me have been waiting almost 40 years to see.
I've never cared much for the music of Frank Wildhorn, but I think it's absolutely perfect for this. And Tom Hewitt, WOW! Not since Rocky Horror, which I didn't see him in, I saw Terry Mann, have I seen such a sexy villian/hero. I could just picture him in his C-In2 undergear. He's like a Scott Wittman who can't go out in the daylight! Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrowwwwl!
I know my opinions don't matter much because I have not seen the show in NYC or at La Jolla, but these are just my too sense. I recommend "Dracula" very highly for anybody who loves spooky/sexy!
Namo you are hilarious. I see you are back 100 %.
LOL
However some of us would like to see this show
I liked the part where the witch flies.
namo, it's posts like this which have driven people away and made bww.com the laughing stock of the theatre world. not only have you broken the sacred covenant and reviewed a play while it is in previews, but you didn't even use the spoilers warning in your thread title! this is just completely unforgiveable. unforgiveable, that's what you are. unforgiveable, though near or far. and your spelling is atrocious on top of it all.
i for one demand an immediate and swift elimination of this thread as it is offensive to all that is good and right about humanity and theatre today, you heinous swill merchant!

But I liked the show! I LOVED it. And I didn't even mention the visible boobies because I didn't want to spoil it. Oops, I should have written "spoiler" before that last sentence.
Was the 13th preview delayed?, we waited forever before the #10!
LOVED it by the way!
If there are boobies, that would spoil it for me.
oh! my! god! this is too much and i protest! i protest and demand that you be censured for this complete and utter disregard for even the most basic rules of standard message board conduct. by god, if i had my way we'd horse whip ya for this! but as it is, i just want to say that i am deeply, deeply disappointed in you.
i really expected much better of you, namo. as one of the "old guard" around here, I would hope that you could set and example for those who've come after, but i see that this trust was misplaced to say the least.
all that's left for me to do now, is fart in your general direction, which you can safely assume that i have just done!

You can't break the sacred covenant! Now I'll have to sacrifice a hamster, dammit.
Namo, please please please for the love of Mary and all the Saints, would be please type the word SPOILER in the subject line for posting things like this.
I, for one, was planning on watching a bootleg copy of the 13th preview with my boyfriend when he returns from the war in Iraq, but now it's all been ruined.
i hope that you can see, namo, the ramifications of your selfish and callous actions. i pray that you take responsibility for them and do the right thing.

"by god, if i had my way we'd horse whip ya for this!" If I had my way, you would too.
Okay, so I forgot to type "Spoiler," you would think I had completely given away the ending to a new musical I haven't seen or something.
By the way, the intermission issues have been fixed by the 13th preview. Oops, spoiler.
see you just persist in this behavior as if you have some queer perversion for it! i am going to suggest that you get some help, man, because if this continues, you're going to lose all of the few friends that you had on this site and i can guaran-damn-tee you that, mister.
i just don't understand what possesses some people to feel that they have some divine duty to ruin the shows that that they have not seen for other who have not seen them be revealing key elements about the intermissions! that's just baffling to me.
The $15 Bloody Mary's we had at intermission were to die for!

I love the whole Blood theme in the show. Ooops, spoiler.
Plus, Namo, it's a preview. That's the part in the process of putting together a show where things are tested and great changes are made. Show biz protocol dictates that one should refrain from critiquing a new piece of work until its official opening night.
Opening nights, for your information, are those evenings on which a creative team feels their work is ready to be exposed to the public. The performances are often followed by lavish parties during which insecure, hyperactive actors mingle with producers and others in the theater community as well as some sycophants, and during which everyone gets drunk.
Who comprises the "creative team?" I hear you ask. Those are the individuals whom you blow for a job.
You really should take some time to learn a few things before posting. Thanks.
Namo; I find your recent post only to be borderline unethical (he-he- a little inside dig here)
'Those are the individuals whom you blow for a job.'
THAT'S what I'm doing wrong!
Gotta work on getting that soft palatte to lift just a touch more!
Jesus, Mary and Joseph Dame. Dig; gravedigging finale. Spoiler!

Really? But so many other people are posting reviews of previews that were even earlier than mine. I let the show develop and evolve so much that I was sensitive enough to review (very positively, I might add) a preview that hasn't even happened yet. I think I should get some credit, don't you?
I am so sorry son. Star jones is blarring in the background . Vey distracting.
oh you'e gonna get it al right, namo. guys like you always get it in the end!
Oh, if you are watching Shtar, it's okay.
Honey, I can't give you anymore credit than I already do. But yes, I think others here should start doing their fair share and accruing more credit to you.
So, everyone can just blame me for everything from their STDs to spoiling their silly little lives. I already get lambasted regularly about "spoiling" the endings of reality shows. My favorite was when I was chewed out for mentioning who won American Idol the day after the competition. The ****er's picture was on the New York Daily News... and I spoiled something?
