Congrats on a job well done, Mom's son!
Tourist- I tried to send you the article but it said you don't accept PM's. Thanks for the nice words though! mom
I'd like to see it too, mom! If your son is half as good-looking as your daughter, I'm sure he looks great. And I'm glad the show went well.
I haven't see the photos, but... It does seem a tad hypocritical of the director and the creative team to ask that your son shave his head for the role, and then not offer 100 percent "commitment to excellence" from the makeup crew. If you're asking the actor to "go that far" you need to ask the same of everyone else around him.
Either go all out or don't.

Mom (Aside - my mom is long passed away and it's kind of comforting calling someone mom!) - I'm so inept at this, and I don't know why it says I don't accept pm/s. I'll try to figure it out, and I'd love for you to try again.

I think I'm set to go now!
Thanks,

Tourist- check your PM. BTW- I lost my mom 15 years ago. My son was only 7 months old when she died so she never got to see the great person he has become. She also never met my daughter. Thanks for your interest! mom

The link was easy enough to find just by following the trail of personal information left in various threads. A click on one free public site provides additional information. That then leads to a click to another free public site, and so on. Not even a half a dozen clicks in half a dozen minutes and there you have it. Just like following and connecting the dots.
ROBOS and MOM I grew up in Central FL and there weren't target schools when I was a kid (I wish there had been)...good for FL, maybe some of that Lottery money is actually going toward better education!
Little Cheese aka ?, I don't see where Etoile posted anywhere in this thread before the last post. I certainly did not respond to it.

You discuss Cubs shirts
Updated On: 2/24/08 at 02:50 PM
i think he looked ok with a shaved head, although i dont see how a bald wig would have looked any less real... if anything it would have looked more real because you can see that his head is shaved, not "naturally" bald.
Agree Abba- however, with makeup on his head on stage- it did look more bald. Also, a bald cap would have taken so much time to hide his hair. In any case, glad it's over and glad to see the hair growing back.
how long was his hair before?
His hair was just past his ears but it was very thick. It grows pretty fast too. I'm just more proud of his commitment. By the way, my husband got him that Cubs shirt last summer when he was in Chicago. My son is a big Stephen King fan and much prefers the Red Sox.
who can blame him??
He's also a big Tom Brady fan. He's even thinking of going to college in Boston- personally, I think he would love it up there!
boston is a wonderful city.
I lived in Randolph when I was 2. All I remember was the snow. I'm excited for him. I just hope we can afford to send him out of state.
there's always theatre scholarships.
Already looking into things. He has a 4.3 GPA in honors classes and now he qualifies for Thespian Society. Gotta see how his SAT/ACT go as he hasn't taken them yet. However, his other passion is guitar (he has been playing since the 6th grade). I would love to send him to Berklee for their summer music program- he would love that. Again- gotta see what we can afford. My daughter's Bat Mitzvah is taking a huge chunk of our finances this year! Thanks for your interest. mom
guitar is great... i've been playing bass on and off since i was 8. for the past 3 years i've been more serious about taking lessons and learning theory.
starting in the fall, i'll be a theatre major, and i'd love to combine those two passions.
That's cool that you play bass. My son like classical, flamenco, and classic rock. He plays a Fender strat, a nylon string classical, and an electic/acoustic. We just saw the head of the Yale guitar program and Pierre Bensusn. (I saw him looking up the Yale website so he's interested in that program as well) They were amazing. I definitely think theatre and guitar are a great combination. The stage presence will help with performances. My son uses his guitar for relaxation. He also played it while he was memorizing his lines. He loves to improv and sometimes I ask him to come play for me to help me relax at night. It's very soothing.
