I had a huge crush on all of James Spader's douchey characters in the 80's, particulary Steff, I am ashamed to admit. Steff is PC's suburban doppelganger!
Jessi and PC are the worst couple in the world. He needs to come out of the closet and have proud gay sex, and then maybe he'll cheer up. IT's like, embarassing that he's pretending to be straight at this point.
I think you're on to something -- because didn't he get a litte defensive when his friend used the word "homo"? (I assume it was "homo" anyway).
It's not in my place to judge what makes a person gay or straight, but he just gives off that certain vibe...

"Yes, the brutalities of progress are called revolutions. When they are over, men recognize that the human race has been harshly treated but it has moved forward." - Les Miserables
I don't know how to rationalize the fact that I spend time and money ($1.99 per episode) watching the fabricated social lives of 15 year olds. The sense of entitlement is layered so thickly, that I don't even care that they are hideously shallow, self-absorbed mini-adults.

Wait, Iflit! You are PAYING for this show???? Can't you watch it online for free or something? That might just push me over the edge if I had to PAY to watch Sebastian flip his hair around...
One of the scariest things for me is that, given how scripted and fabricated the show is, through the contrived situations the producers set up, the editing and all of the obvious mugging for the cameras and attempts to be provocative (for lack of a better word), Maite managed to like, um, ya know, OMG, pretty much come off just as she is in real life.

Stockard, do you remember Spader in Sex Lies and Videotape? That was the first time I had seen him. I thought he was a little creepy but extremely hot back then. No so much now.
Yes, PM, she growled when she said that! bitch! I don't what it is with Jessi but the way she talks sometimes...it's a bit overdramatized. But I'm glad I wasn'tthe only one who noticed the growling. LOL! And Maite ... what was going on with that girl? She had a weird way of speaking too. If that;s the way she is in real life, well, more power to her for being herself on camera, I guess. :P

I guess I sort of remember Spader in Pretty In Pink. That was not one of my favorite 80's movies. Much eclipsed by The Breakfast Club, 16 Candles and St. Elmo's Fire.
So I started watching this last night but haven't finished it yet. Camille's friend = fugly.
P.C. would have had a field day with Maite. It looks as if she has no filter, so it would have been great to see their interaction. Updated On: 7/16/09 at 08:12 AM
blueroses, yes, I've known Maite (pronounced my tay, accent on the tay) for many years. How she ended up sounding just like one of the cast of Valley Girl (one of my all time favorite movies, by the way) is beyond me, since it's 2009 (not 1980 something), she's lived in NYC her entire life, and I'm sure that no one else she knows really sounds like that. She's a pretty good kid, although she's turned into a bit of a caricature of herself.
And count me in on the James Spader love. I think The Secretary is certainly among my favorite of his performances.

Saw this eppie last night...and I effin' LOVE that Matey girl!! What a character!
The coming attractions seemed to be showing a PC "I'm Gay" breakthrough...posing with other men, therpist's office...we'll see.

The therapist with the practice in The Russian Tea Room? (TM someone on this board...orangeskittles, I think) All she does is nod at P.C. and feed his ego. I doubt she'll really ever call him out on anything.
