re: new york welcomes popcultureboy!

Yes. I am going to be sound asleep on the plane...

My night was FAB! The concert was brilliant and I went out for champagne and a white chocolate souffle with friends...

Perfect way to kick off the vacation. re: new york welcomes popcultureboy!

Not that this is a real possibility, but keep your phone turned OFF as much as possible!

Awesome. Yes, remember it's a VACATION, Addy. I will see you next Friday for pink drinks and now I really have to go to bed, tomorrow is another big FUN day.
Nothing precious, plain to see, don't make a fuss over me. Not loud, not soft, but somewhere inbetween. Say sorry, just let it be the word you mean.

I think sleep will overtake me now...

Good night...

Hoping PCB has another awesome day tomorrow!

re: new york welcomes popcultureboy!

Sleep was overtaking me too, but I got sidetracked by low carb ice cream.

And cookie, the awesomeness of my day tomorrow is a foregone conclusion......

Aww Boobs, what can I say? You're an awesome guy too. It was a shame we had to part so early, but any later and Dar would have started without me.....

re: new york welcomes popcultureboy!

As predicted, the awesome fun factor of my day yesterday was a foregone conclusion. Not only did I have the most marvellous afternoon with a certain Matt_G (although we didn't pick the best movie, but it didn't diminish the pleasure of his company), but the evening was full of unexpected delights.

The incomporable robbiej took me to Sondheim Friday at the Duplex, as for my birthday present he was going to sing his infamous version of Getting Married Today. We went to another bar beforehand where we were joined by robbie's boyfriend (and he's a cutie) and then Eddie Varley and Matthew Rask showed up, which was totally unexpected and utterly fabulous. We made it over to the Duplex and there was bwaysinger and Undiscovered. Excellent. Now, let's start with the fiercely talented robbiej. Not only did he dedicate a rendition of Getting Married Today that brought the house down to me, he also did a raucous version of Ladies Who Lunch. Then I found out exactly why his name on here is bwaySINGER. Holy cow, what a voice. Then to top it off, Eddie Varley dedicated a song to me too. A rather gorgeous version of Not While I'm Around. Very sweet. Then bwaysinger, Undiscovered and I stayed on while the others departed, before heading out to a diner for a VERY early breakfast. I finally made it home around 5:15 in the a.m. See? Awesome AND fun.

Indeed I have, Glebb. And when it comes to meeting fun and talented people, all I can say is "too much is never enough".

re: new york welcomes popcultureboy!

caffeine (diuretic) + hangover = BAD!!! hydrate, don't dehydrate!

A milkshake might help. Frank Sinatra always used that as his hangover cure...

re: new york welcomes popcultureboy!

Managed to pull myself out of my hungover horror in time to get into town and see the 3pm of La Cage Aux Folles. I liked the show but didn't love it. The writing is so focussed on the two male leads, that the rest of the cast have very little to work with and so their performances seemed....uninspired. The songs, with a couple of exceptions, were quite bland too. But the Cagelles. Ohmagosh, that is one talented group of people. I was left open mouthed with disbelief on more than one occasion. If only the rest of the show had been as successful as that....

re: new york welcomes popcultureboy!

I feel as though I should offer my special version of NYC hospitality to our little friend :) (Shut up, bwaysinger...)

Perhaps I can talk you all into a Cafe Mozart coffee klatsch?
Suzanne: I never use catalogs. I'd rather go in the store and see all the salespeople groveling and sucking up to you. Julia: Pardon me, I never knew they were so solicitous at the K-Mart.
