I'm not surprised. But I'm still heartbroken. At least the attorney could indict the news media and social media.

The grand jury process is a tool of the prosecution. Typically, it is manipulated to obtain indictments. In this situation, it was manipulated not to. In 99.99% of cases, they present minimal information in order obtain probable cause. Here, they overwhelmed the grand jury with tons of evidence and conflicting testimony, effectively turning them into a trial jury.

The Prosecutor last night couldn't keep the smirk off his face throughout his statement -- it was just exactly the performance of a CEO telling his staff that he's giving himself a raise but cutting their hours to part time.

You would have thought Bob McCulloch was Darren Wilson's defense attorney taking a victory latp instead of the prosecuting attorney charged with bringing an indictment. In what world do prosecuting attorneys present conflicting evidence to a grand jury where they are trying to get an indictment?
And after months of leaks that raised tensions in the community it seemed like an especially bright idea to hold that news conference after school was cancelled for the rest of the week. So the streets would be filled with angry kids.

But that doesn't really solve any problems does it? It only creates more problems by forcing people who are not really cut out to do the job into a bad situation.

My heart is broken for these business owners. Thankfully buildings can be rebuilt....lives can't. Such a sad situation from all angles.

I'm really glad this game out today. Last night they were reading from Wilson's testimony on the local news and everything Brown supposedly said sounded like what you'd write for a stereotypical "thug" in a movie.

I really don't know which position to take, I understand where both sides are coming from. What I don't get is why police officers feel the need to shoot to kill anytime they're threatened? What happened to warning shots? Or shoot to injure? Surely a man (or 12yo kid for that matter) would stop in his tracks once in severe pain? And if they didn't, can't the police take cover and only use deadly force when all alternatives have been exhausted?
