And it is all over now. So glad that NBC learned their lesson from the fiasco that was the closing ceremony coverage from London. That was the most ridiculous thing I had seen.
As strange as this sounds, I was actually a little let down by the whole event. I'm talking about the entire Olympic games, not just the closing. I can't put my finger on it. I don't know if I was expecting more or what or if it is just me. There just felt like there was something off about the whole event. Congratulations to all the athletes though.

What happened with the closing ceremony coverage in London? I don't remember.
I also felt the Olympics was a little "off." I think it's because most of the Americans whom a casual fan might know didn't do very well, and NBC didn't give us a chance to learn about anybody else.

I do agree about the medal ceremonies. It did make that a little less exciting. I guess I would agree about mostly hearing about the US athletes. It sort of feels like there was no stars that had the world talking, like in past games. It was also getting on my nerves to keep hearing about hockey. I was over the US losing, but nobody would let that go. Some fans unfortunately made us look like sore losers. But, on the other hand, I saw fans also acting like sore winners for Canada. That is not what the Olympics are about.
And the London closing I mentioned had NBC cut away to air the pilot of the failed Animal Practice show. They went back to the closing after midnight, only to give us like 10 minutes of closing remarks. It was the biggest waste of staying up to see what was going to happen. At least that's what I thought at the time.

I was never much of a Nancy Kerrigan fan, but I think she came off very well in last night's interview.
As for Ashley Wagner, was not a fan before, still not a fan, and I can't believe that she would complain about judging and how someone could fall a couple of times and end up ahead of her. She, who was 4th in the US Nationals, and was chosen to go to the Olympics, should keep her yapper shut.

Posted: 2/24/14 at 3:56pmAfter discussing it with some friends, there were no "wow" moments that everyone was talking about over the coffee machine the next day. It was smooth sailing which unfortunately tends to be boring.

The USA vs Russia hockey match was a real WOW.
When Jeremy Abbott got up and skated the hell out of his short program after crashing into the boards, it was a standing-ovation-WOW-worthy moment.
Teen phenom Mikaela Shiffrin won the Gold, I said WOW.
...just a few of the many, many times I was moved and thrilled by the Olympic games.
