Posted: 2/13/14 at 11:15pmI think I heard that Hanyu got the highest score in the short program ever. Patrick Chan could still possibly get the gold, though.

Posted: 2/13/14 at 11:18pmI didn't see Jason Brown because I was outside shoveling snow. Did they show Jeremy Abbott in the evening on NBC? I felt really bad for him, but was glad he was able to get up and finish his program cleanly. Also glad that he wasn't badly hurt like I was afraid of when he wasn't getting up at first.

Jason Brown renewed my love for skating.

Posted: 2/14/14 at 10:12amThough only by mere tenths, I can't figure out how Fernandez scored higher than Takahashi in the short program.

Amazing. Amazing. Amazing!
Am at the men's figure skating now. So exciting.
Just met Putin
He came to the USA House where I was. (Having a glass of champagne)
Best of all - I was wearing the rainbow pin I've been wearing over here!
I made sure it was on the outside of my jacket

Disappointing men's free skate. The highlight was Johnny Weir's jacket. THAT was a winner.
In the meantime... there's always curling.

Posted: 2/14/14 at 7:46pmWow, underwhelming to say the least. Glad I taped it and watched as soon as I got home from work. Won't be watching the airing tonight.

Posted: 2/14/14 at 9:25pmYeah, it was not interesting at all. Only person I really give any props to is Jeremy Abbott. I mean, I knew there was no chance of him getting a medal, but he really came back after that horrible fall last night.

I have never seen a men's free skate that has excited me more than Paul Wiley's from the 1992 Olympics. His choice of music was excellent and the last portion of his program was thrilling.

Posted: 2/14/14 at 11:25pmJust watched the mens final...so proud of Jason! Disappointing, but Hanyu deserved it. His short was phenomenal. I'm sorry for chan though, but he didnt rise to the occasion.

I loved Jeremy Abbott and Jason Brown last night.
The program, in general, left me feeling a little flat. Such a shame because the short program was spectacular
I'm off to go ice skating with Tara Lipinski this morning
She is going to do a little class for about 50 of us. Should be a blast!
I have to say this has been a wonderful and exciting trip
The people have all been so friendly and welcoming. We've been trading pins and the ones that they want the most are the little American glad pins I brought with me. Truly wonderful the way people from every background come together in peace.
Ps. It's 9 am here. Happy Saturday!

Ok that was cool. There were 20 of us.
Really interesting to hear her talk first and then so much fun to meet her and skate with her. She tried to teach us a move or two.I attempted one but decided I didn't want to fall and break something...

Dottie - Thanks for the walk down memory lane. There have been so few memorable men's performances, but Paul's was one of them. I can only remember a few - Paul's, Boitano's from 88, a couple of Christopher Bowman's (one where he skated to the Hungarian Rhapsody and a lovely exhibition piece to Maria from West Side Story), and John Misha Petkovich, and now Jason's.
Addy - All I can say is that I am green with envy! LOL.
