Rachel, rest in peace. You fought a good fight. We will miss you here and never forget you.
To those that mourn the loss of your dear friend, I offer my deepest condolences. Rachel and I never crossed paths in person unfortunately, but we crossed paths on BWW and Facebook.
For those of you who knew her; how did you meet? Do you remember your first interaction, etc.? If you're up to it, by all means, please share!
RIP sweet Rachel...I'm so glad we had the chance to meet and I wish all the peace, love and strength for your lovely family.
So heartbroken. I can't even find the words, but I do find joy in the fact that she has true peace.
What sad news to wake up to. Rest in peace dear sweet Rachel.
Much love to your family.
Group hug
Rest in peace. Condolences to all her dear friends and family.
The world is a bit less bright today. May you continue to shine in our hearts.
Was not expecting this. Rest in Peace, Flit.

Sincere condolences to Rachel's family and friends.
I never knew iflitifloat's given name until now. What a lovely name for a lovely person. I never knew her except from BWW, but couldn't help liking what I did know. The comments from all of you, especially those of you who had met her and did know her have touched me deeply these past couple of days.
So although I never really knew her aside from this board, I am truly very sad at her passing. May her spirit be free and at peace. She will be missed.
Parable of Immortality
(by Henry van Dyke)
I am standing upon the seashore. A ship at my side spreads her white sails to the morning breeze and starts for the blue ocean.
She is an object of beauty and strength, and I stand and watch until at last she hangs like a speck of white cloud just where the sea and sky come down to mingle with each other.
Then someone at my side says, "There she goes!"
Gone where?
Gone from my sight, that is all.
She is just as large in mast and hull and spar as she was when she left my side and just as able to bear her load of living freight to the place of destination.
Her diminished size is in me, not in her.
And just at the moment when someone at my side says, "There she goes!" there are other eyes watching her coming and other voices ready to take up the glad shout . . .
"Here she comes!"
Rest in Peace!
Sadness reigns today.
Was expecting this. Still devastated. We never met face to face.
I think my 1st real contact occured when a certain "gadfly" poster had disappeared from his usual acts of noodging and bugging and even being erudite and I was worried.(u know who u R!) She contacted me to reassure me that said poster was fine just taking abreak from the sturm und drang of the board. We PM'd thereafter about a number of things theatre and esp nursing. Always thoughtful and supportive. Peace to a dear lady and strength to her friends and family. Grief is the price we pay for love- there could be less grief but that would mean less love- nobody ever wants that.
Is there any special fund for donations in memory being set up?
Really want to honour her memory some substantal way.
I imagine Rachel with the angels singing to all those who loved her:
Remember me as a big balloon
At a carnaval that ended too soon
Remember me as a breath of spring
Remember me as a good thing
I'll always remember you iflit.
So flit, float and fleetly flee and fly into the arms of your heavenly Creator. The heavens received their newest angel at 5 am.
I will always remember you.
Rest in peace my dear.
Rachel welcomed me to BWW with open arms when I first arrived. She will always have a special place in my heart for many reasons. I was lucky to call her friend.
I said before that my life changed when Rachel entered my world and became friend, confidant and all round good for a laugh buddy. The world has lost a great one too soon.

^^ Yes.
And I miss her already.
Is there a way to "dim" the lights of Broadway World? Rob?

If we all squint simultaneously, it will appear to dim the Off-Topic board. And while we're at it, how about if we all try together to levitate the Pentagon?! Flitty would be into that!
“It’s just that...when something like this happens I pray very hard to make heads or tails of it, and I think that in her case: she just wanted to take care...of everybody she knew and her poor little body was just worn out. It just wouldn’t let her do all the things she wanted to. So she went on to a place where she could be a guardian angel. She will always be young...she will always be beautiful. And I personally feel much safer knowing that she’s up there on my side. It may sound real simple and stupid...and maybe I am, but, that’s how I get through things like this.” -Annelle in Steel Magnolias the film.
I feel like there is one more person up there or out there on our side and maybe even helping us out and giving God a nudge for the baby we've been trying so hard for. I think Rachel would be one to do that. I wish I had the chance to tell her how much she meant to me.
We could try that but we might get tear gassed. There are enough tears right now.
Let the sun shine!
Is there any chance to put a peace sign on the BroadwayWorld.com banner?
JG2, you may have said it most perfectly! We all need an extra guardian angel or 2.
JG2, what a great idea!
