Rachel was one of the very few people I've had the privilege to know who actually walked the talk. The world was better for her presence, and is a little colder in her absence.
May her legacy inspire others to care more, do more, and be more.
And may those she touched find peace of mind and heart, especially her family.
F*CK cancer.
JG2, wonderful suggestion. Rob, beautiful tribute. Thank you!
Thank you Rob!!
and to Q a very large AMEN to the F*CK cancer!
Thank you, Mods. What a beautiful tribute to one of the most special posters ever to grace Broadway World. Classy.
I sent Rob a message and he responded and had it up within minutes. He said it was a very appropriate tribute.
Thank you, Rob. This means more than you can possibly know.
Thank you Rob.
Rest in Peace Rachel. Peace to Rachel's family and loved ones.
And thank you BWW for allowing me to meet and become friends with so many wonderful, amazing, talented and giving people.
Seeing that just caused me to burst into tears all over again.
Lovely tribute for a lovely lady.

So sad to hear this. I only met her in person once but she was lovely and funny. Peace to her and her family and friends.
Thank you, Rob. That made me cry. I would never have met Rachel if it hadn't been for BroadwayWorld--or any of the other wonderful people in her circle of friends, who have become part of my circle of friends.
I know that right now she is smiling down on BroadwayWorld and thinking "That is a very cool thing."

Thinking back, I feel extremely lucky to have spent as much time with Rachel as I did. But the one image I cannot get out of my mind was sitting near her at her beautiful daughter's college vocal recital. It was extraordinary to see the love, the pride and the friendship that existed between these two fabulous women. And I feel so F*CKing lucky to have seen that.
YaY MRDiamond(SIR) not only a peace symbol but a rainbow one too!
TOTALLY tearing up.

Wow, even though this was sadly expected, I just can't believe how heartbreaking this news is. The tributes here have been lovely and the peace sign on the logo is perfect.
Rachel was a truly unique and beautiful human being, and I am honored to have known her, to have learned from her, and to have been her friend.
when i was new-ish to the message board and having a rough time, rachel was one of the first people to welcome me and tell me she believed that i could make a difference with what i was doing. that little bit of encouragement at such a bad time in my life helped me more than she could have known it would (or maybe she did know?)
i will never forget the difference she made to me, or how much she inspired me in my life.
rest in peace rachel, you've certainly earned the rest <3
Such a bright spirit, loving, compassionate, joyous and a lesson in class, tact and the true meaning of beauty. She was the perfect combination of the wisdom of maturity and the tenacity of youth. It was a privilege to have met her and spent time with her. She will be dearly missed and forever remembered. My condolences to her family and loved ones. I hope she will not only rest in peace, but will become one with peace and its influence on us all.
RIP Rachel.

That so perfectly sums up my vision of Rachel. Thank you for putting it into words.

Rachel was my first friend here. We met within a few months, taking our kids (now grown) on the same day to the City Opera SWEENEY TODD, the one with Elaine Paige, and sat way upstairs. I'll never forget when she sent me a photo in advance, so I'd recognize her at intermission. But she warned, "Honestly, the picture is of a much better looking woman than I really am." Not true, of course, yet to me, that's quintessential Rachel. Was anyone here ever as generous of spirit? And genuinely kind? While at the same time still wickedly, irreverently funny? Her blend of Pollyanna and skeptic, softie and tough broad, made her unique. And joyful. And a joy to know. I was humbled by her infinite capacity for compassion, the likes of which I've never known. And when she needed ours most, she had still that more to give us. Loving, lovable and loyal in the only ways that count. How can we dare even guess how much she'll be missed?
I don't think I fully accepted this all morning, until I saw the peace sign on the banner. Thank you Rob. Sometimes the simplest things deliver the most.
Thank you Rob. That logo banner has moved me deeply.
It's a testament to how influential Rachel was to so many of us.

Where I am in the southeastern US, there is a rainbow around the sun right now. (Hasn't rained today.) I don't mean to read things into things, but crazy thought crossed my mind that maybe Rachel's behind it. :)
I only knew iflitifloat through BWW and I am touched by the beautiful messages on this thread. The peace sign under the BWW logo is just incredible. May she rest in peace.
