You're such a good little Obamabot.
Why you could be the next Robin Leach. Lifestyles of the People Obama Hates.
Confronted with some irrefutable evidence regarding the black-hearted hypocrisy and selfishness of the Republican Oligarchs, snide personal attacks on the character of the individual submitting the evidence make a good substitute for any kind of rational defense of the party's platform and/or philosophy--as there IS no rational defense...

That says absolutely nothing. I know people who own five or six franchises just like this and they are most likely going to be cutting back hours for people who are working 30+ hours because they can't afford to pay them health insurance. Unless you own a small business and are having to pay your employees health insurance, I don't think you really understand how obamacare will affect them.

Applebees is doing the same thing.

Here's a whole list of companies who fired or are going to fire employees after obama was reelected.

Dear Romantico: Instead of posting one-sided, narrow pictures, let's look at the overall situation and how an economy functions.
The CEO of Papa Johns estimates that Obamacare will cost his company between $5 - $8 million a year. Any worker who puts in over 30 hours will be eligible for such benefits. So the CEO said that many franchisees will inevitably not be able to absorb these costs and therefore be forced to reduce the hours of some workers (to under 30) or implement layoffs.
I'm all for Americans having accessible and free healthcare, like most other civilized nations. I also believe companies should have a sense of morality and not everything should be about the bottom line. However this is how economics functions. Businesses are in existence to make money and if they're plagued with extra costs, cuts are usually necessary to maintain the same profitability.
We live in a free, capitalist society. Everyone casts their ballot in an election. However everyone also casts a ballet with their wallet. And that's the great thing about capitalism. A candidate is elected who raises costs on a business, so the market self corrects itself (surely this will be much more widespread beyond Papa Johns). Now if you don't like that, don't order from Papa Johns. And if enough people stop giving them business to the point where they're making less money than if they took a $5 - $8 million hit, they'll revert their practices.
But don't get angry because small business owners (and yes Papa John's franchisees are small business owners) want to keep their business at the same profit level and maintain their same lifestyle. I'm not sure the % of profit an average PJ's makes, but 14 cents a pizza adds up perhaps even to the point where it could mean making money or loosing money for certain locations.

Oh look, another troll...
"But don't get angry because small business owners (and yes Papa John's franchisees are small business owners) want to keep their business at the same profit level and maintain their same lifestyle."
Yes,those pricey castles should be maintained over giving employees a decent wage and health insurance.
You make me laugh.
What's better? Spending the $5-$8M dollars so your EMPLOYEES will have a better life or CEO's GREED, when these CEOs obviously don't need anymore money?
Seems to me, that these assholes need to lose everything. F*CK them.

TheatreDiva90016, get a life. I just posted a five paragraph, well thought out and fact driven response to romantico's post which completely dumbs down a complex issue and minimalizes a $5 - $8 million cost down to 14 cents.
Great you love Obama, I get it.
Now can we have a real conversation about how economics works?

TheatreDiva90016, you're quite mistaken if you think that Papa John's franchisees live in "castles". Do you even understand how franchises work?
The CEO of Papa John's is not personally cutting jobs. He's saying his franchisees likely will. Are some of these people rich? Most definitely. Are many completely middle class? You bet.
Franchisees are not typically poor, but many are solidly middle class and operating their restaurants off a bank loan. Not all multimillionaires.
Do you think the individual franchise owners do as well or even as close to as well as the CEO's do? Not even close, if you owned a franchise I think you would figure that out.

According to Papa John's website (http://www.papajohns.com/franchise/frequently-asked-questions-about-franchising.shtm), a franchisee must have a minimum net worth of 150k. So pretty much most average middle class Americans who own a home with a white picket fence and a car.
Hey Phyllis, instead of diverting the question with a completely irrelevant response, maybe we should all actually learn how franchises and the economy works.

Abby, stop mooching off your parents yet?
I didn't say anything about franchise owners.
For the most part, I stay away from fast food. Except for Del Taco. And I know the owner. She only has about ten employees. I also know the owner of a few Taco Bells but she and I don't talk politics.
"if you owned a franchise I think you would figure that out."
Replace "owned a franchise" with anyone and you've got an argument, which waters down your intent. I don't, and never will, own a franchise.
How about people remember that the election was not solely about Obamacare? My vote had little to do with Obamacare and more to do with Romney's horrible stance on women's rights, gay rights, foreign policy, energy use, lies about his role in the car industry, flip-flopping issues, and general demeanor.
Why are you changing the subject? I guess you have nothing to dispute on this thread so you have to go back to criticizing me. Makes sense though, you're a typical liberal. Does me still living with my parents have anything to do with what we're talking about on this page?

My vote was because he was black. Duh.
Romney's gonna make it 48% just for you, Phyllis
I will listen to your arguements when you are actually out in the world, experiencing life dear. Not parroting what mom and dad say.
