I think she's trying to get her 15 minutes with this. She wants to go on the talk show circuit on behalf of fat people everywhere.

She'll get press for the photos, lose weight and then do a series on how thin woman are hated. I understand why some people hate our culture. So much energy wasted on nothing-first world problems.

Eat the donut, buy the shoes, take a deep breath and live your life. You're not that important.

"The sexual energy between the mother and son really concerns me!"-random woman behind me at Next to Normal "I want to meet him after and bang him!"-random woman who exposed her breasts at Rock of Ages, referring to James Carpinello

Her photography reminds me of Girls for some reason. This whole heavy (no pun intended), selfish, doin' it on your own vibe.

Especially that second set, which might as well be called Heavy Woman Looks at Things.
"...everyone finally shut up, and the audience could enjoy the beginning of the Anatevka Pogram in peace."

What an egotist! Yeah, the whole world is staring at her. Please, obese people are a dime a dozen.
Common sense? What's common about it? No one has common sense. It should be called rare sense.

I agree this is a failed experiment. I don't read any of these as mocking related to weight. And we also don't know what happened just before the photos were snapped. For all we know, she yelled out something bizarre and then assumed a passive pose for the picture.
Art has a double face, of expression and illusion.

They are probably staring becuse she looks so damn miserable. You're wearing totally unflattering clothes and looking a hot mess while making a face that makes others wonder if you are looking for a bridge to jump from. Yeah, people might look. People LOOK at other people! I passed Alice Ripley in Times Square and I stared her down hardcore and probably looked like some of the "mockers" she is photographing. You look at people, especially if they're giving off the crazy vibe. It's self-protection.
Pretty pretty please don't you ever ever feel like you're less than f**ckin' perfect!

I came late to this, but agree that the concept is too mired in masochism to be a genuine expose. Which is a shame, because it there is something here worth exploring.
"Impossible is just a big word thrown around by small men who find it easier to live in the world they've been given than to explore the power they have to change it. Impossible is not a fact. It's an opinion. Impossible is not a declaration. It's a dare. Impossible is potential. Impossible is temporary. Impossible is nothing.” ~ Muhammad Ali
