Posted: 10/18/07 at 11:13pmHow much farther down can it go? A commentator on Showbiz Tonight said it's pretty said that Ellen cares more for her adopted dog than Britney does for her kids. In my lifetime, I don't think I've ever seen a young celebrity have so much drama as this- It's pathetic!!!!! mom

Posted: 10/18/07 at 11:31pmYou neglected to insert the word temporarily between she's and lost. And the reason you've never seen a celebrity this surrounded by drama is because she's the first once-sensational celebrity under a microscope of this magnitude in the internet age. And she hasn't lost them, they've just been suspended until she updates her contact info. The reason her visitation rights have been suspended is because th people who schedule her random drug tests haven't been able to reach her by phone. Her people have stated (And it's widely known) that the area she lives in has poor reception) I'm not necessarily agreeing that that's a reasonable excuse, but it certainly isn't as dramatic as the media is portraying it to be. She's in such a horrible situation. People keep saying that she needs to get out of LA (And I agree) but she can't get away because she has to stay there if she wants to see her kids. I think it's sad that she's constantly labled "trainwreck" and "crazy" when she really should be called strong. I don't know many people that could deal with all the sh*t that she deals with.

Posted: 10/18/07 at 11:47pmAs a mom- I can say that even though it may be temporary, she can't see her kids. When my kids were that age, I missed them througout the day. There are such things as messenger services that will get messages to people. There is ALWAYS a way to get ahold of someone. If it's important to you, you WILL find ways! This whole situation is full of very poor excuses. I don't consider her strong as she put herself in those situations. There are plenty of young starlets who have managed to balance their lives. I'm pulling for Britney and I want her to do well. Can't she still live in the LA area and not frequent the places that will put her in the limelight? She doesn't have to go out and party every night! The Internet wouldn't stalk her if she didn't give them something to talk about. I appreciate you taking up for her but this is just getting ridiculous. She has earned enough money to take a little rest. I just wonder if she thrives on all this drama!

Posted: 10/18/07 at 11:56pmI am sick of seeing her everywhere. I have stopped watching entertainment shows because even when she isn't doing something controversial, which seems to be rare these days, they find something about her to report on. It's overkill. I just feel really sorry for those 2 kids. If what we are seeing on tv is any indication, she has no business being a mother at this point in her life. Just my thoughts.

"Can't she still live in the LA area and not frequent the places that will put her in the limelight?"
Paparazzi camp outside her residential area 24/7....helicopters fly over her home at least twice a day.
"The Internet wouldn't stalk her if she didn't give them something to talk about."
Which explains why the paps film her going to starbucks and gas stations....groundbreaking news right there. stop the presses.
"She doesn't have to go out and party every night!"
Last time she was seen at a club was September 18th. Shame on her for going out once in a months time.
You, like the rest of the world get a very skewed and biased account of her life. To quote Britney "You'll never see it my way because you're not me"

She hangs around the boulevard
She's a local girl with local scars
She got home late, she got home late
She drank so hard the bottle ached
And she tried, and she tried, and she tried, and she tried
But nothin's clear in a bar full a flies
So she takes, so she takes, she takes, so she takes
She understands when she gives it away
She says
"Man I gotta get outta this town
Man I gotta get outta this pain
Man I gotta get outta this town
Outta this town and out of L.A."
Vita, dulcedo, et spes nostra
Salve, Salve Regina
Ad te clamamus exsules filii Eva
Ad te suspiramus, gementes et flentes
O clemens O pia

You don't even have to watch entertainment shows. The tee-vee at my work stays on news channels and no matter if it's CNN, MSNBC, CNBC, Fox News, or Headline News I always know exactly what's going on in Britney's life. I'm suffering exhaustion on the topic.

Posted: 10/19/07 at 12:17amOkay, so explain to me why her. Is it because they like to see big pop stars fall on their butt? Is it another case of building someone up just to bring them down? Does Brit just have a bad publicist? I'm old enough to remember Madonna when she first came into the limelight. She was a wild child who was very controversial- especially her Sex book. However, you don't see anyone questioning her abilities as a mom. I know surveillence is much better now, but at some point, there needs to be a turn around in the perception of her. Maybe if she banked more on a talent instead of her sex appeal, things would be different. Personally, I agree with Kanye and believe that MTV exploited her. As I said, I understand you taking up for her but please explain to me how did it get this far? Why is she being followed at Target? How do you know she hasn't been out since September 18th? And yes, I am not Brit- I AM a mom! Thanks for the discussion. mom

Posted: 10/19/07 at 12:19amI think those kids are screwed no matter what- they have a choice of Britney or Kevin. I'm not quite sure which one has better values and parenting skills, if any at all.

"How do you know she hasn't been out since September 18th"
Every move she makes is archived. That's the last time she was photographed at a club.

Very true wonder. So am I.
And no matter how much she doesn't go out to the bars, it is pretty obvious that she is seeking attention. I heard a report the other day that she has called, whomever, to find out where the paparazzi are and heads there. her performance at the MTV awards sealed the deal for me. While not a big fan, and not an owner of any of her music, I have danced to it and watch her videos at the bar I go to. She got problems and needs help. And not the help you get at celebrity detox facilities.

Posted: 10/19/07 at 12:22amYou didn't answer my other questions. Don't get me wrong either, I don't hate Britney. Just do not understand all this drama!

Posted: 10/19/07 at 12:27amDoes she have a publicist? Last I heard, she didn't.
#15re: Poor Britney- Now she's lost visitation rights
Posted: 10/19/07 at 12:28amI personally think it's because she's done being America's sweetheart. Her not being who she once was is fascinating people. Everyone loves a good downward spiral....It's sad
#16re: Poor Britney- Now she's lost visitation rights
Posted: 10/19/07 at 12:33ammaybe that's the problem- she needs a good publicist. Look what happened when Tom Cruise lost his good publicist. When he hired his sister, he started looking like a real kook! BTW wickedfiyer... looks like we are both biased by the info we are getting on the news. We just chose to view it in different ways. I have seen so many people in my lifetime that thrive on the drama of their lives. I think if Brit hired the right people, they could protect her and keep her out of the limelight. It can be done!

Posted: 10/19/07 at 12:34amMom, I don't keep up with celebrity gossip. I see eight hours a day of the major news channels recycling the same five stories every hour. There was Paris, that filled up a week or so and then she started to pull back. There was Nicole Richie, but she seems to have pulled back as well. Then there was Lindsey Lohan who seemed to be on an epic meltdown trajectory, but she too seems to have pulled back from the public eye. With each of them, it may have taken jail time or a court-ordered ankle bracelet, but after the initial hubbub they seem to pull back from the public eye, if only for a moment, and come back renewed. Britney stays in the public eye. She courts it. She's choreographing her own downfall rather skillfully, and that's what keeps the newshounds on her. She has the ability to step out of the public eye and deal with her problems personally, she's just choosing not to exercise that option.

I can't wrap my head around the fact that Brit-whatever and her kids and Ellen and her dog are the top stories in the 'news' in this country.
That sound you hear is the rest of the world laughing - or screaming.

I think she got bad advice and grew up too fast. I never saw her as "America's Sweetheart". And I don't call a teen slinking down a school hallway looking seductive singing "oops I did it again" America's Sweetheart"

Posted: 10/19/07 at 12:39amWell said wonderwaiter and DG! I guess that's my point and why I don't consider her to be a strong person. To me, she's acting like a rebellious child. You can't do that once you have kids. Once you are a mom- your kids comes first! I personally hope that she changes for the positive. I'm actually pulling for her.

DG - sometimes I can't handle eight full hours of "news", so sometimes I turn it on E! or VH1 to see how the "other half" live.
(It's no wonder that 9 times out of 10 my customers will come in to the Weather Channel or the Channel channel because I just can't stand to hear it anymore.)

I don't know anyone who considered her a America's Sweetheart" except the media maybe. A chart topping pop star? Yes. But that doesn't transfer into "America's Sweetheart".

The Britney story isn't going to have a happy ending. And it wouldn't surprise me if the ending comes sooner rather than later.
She strikes me as being hellbent on self destruction.
