Daniel has to go. I was hugely impressed by his cup dress, but he's become such a whiny, slimy, entitled little bitch that unless he's completely different in private, I honestly can't see what Wesley sees in him.
I find Jerrell supremely annoying, but I gotta say he aced this challenge.

Varla Jean is such a star!
I LOVED the Ann Margret look. The hot pink costume was fabulous and Varla really worked it (plus, I'd kill for that ass like that). Ann Margret meets Elvis on the Love Boat...how could it not have won? The rhinestone anchor jewelry was a great touch.
Yay Chris March! I adore him. And how gorgeous was his Viking costume with the disco ball breasts? Heidi seemed to be so happy to see him, too. Their banter was cute during their offstage exit. "Let's get German food." "Some pretzels and beah!"

I fast forwarded through a lot of tonight's episode.
I am in the process of losing complete interest in Project Runway. This season is so boring so far.

Reggie, I'm devastated!
I had Ru on the pedastal of all drag queens. The most gorgeous! I'm in shock.

Perhaps I put it too strongly.
What I should have said was I always found RuPaul startlingly beautiful. And last night, I was shocked at how drawn and . . . I'm trying to think of a nonperjorative word . . . unlovely he looked.
Still, of course, striking. Just not in such a good way for me.

Ru looks sick to me...I adore her and liked all she had to say, but was so sad trying to figure out why she looked so thin.
I'm surprised Hedda was so difficult, but I did hate that outfit. You'd think someone with a mohawk who speaks of themselves in the third person could handle a difficult drag queen.
I did love Varla's outfit - it helped that she had the best personality as well), but I thought Terri should've won. Second time she was my fave and didnt win. I also loved Leanne's and was surprised she wasnt in the top three...and I think Blaine's was much worse than Jerrell's.
And Joe had to mention how straight he was again...yawn!

Doodle, I agree with everything you said. And I hope Ru isn't unwell; that hadn't occurred to me.
I think I'm ready for Varla Jean to have her own series.

I was surprised how cute he was as a man, too! Loved seeing the girls as guys during the fitting!
Reg, I hope I'm wrong as well. It could've been the wig...that weave was awful!

I hated Hedda's dress also. It definitely looked reptilian.
I think a problem with Ru was the hair. It reminded me of Farrah Fawcett in her worst days. I do hope Ru's all right, though. I saw him on another show, as himself, and he looked fine.

A Varla Jean series is a great idea!
I hated Terri's outfit. I thought the boots were cool and I loved the idea behind the costume, but disliked the blue and silver mixed with the white, red and yellow. Most of the fabulousness came from the makeup and Acid Betty's personality--none of which had anything to do with Terri.
I don't get Jerrell! That costume was a whole buncha nothing. His queen loved silks, vintage fabrics and patterns and appearing as more demure. He should have thought of Julianne Moore in those lucious Far From Heaven dresses with a feminine pattern and just amped it up to death with tons of crinoline, gloves, and an over-the-top wide-brimmed hat.
Look at Chris March's costumes. He's pretty sensational. I love them all--especially The Virgin Queen (complete with giant chastity belt). He is modeling the outfits in virtually all of them! There's one outfit he did for WishBone salad dressing (Richard Simmons is in the pic) that would have been amazing on Hedda Lettuce! http://www.chrismarchdesign.com
Varla and Hedda were so much fun. Hedda was such a pro in the way she really delivered for Suede. The judges would never have known she didn't love that dress...she worked that runway.
It was a fun challenge in a boring season.

I agree, it was a fun challenge!
And yes, Ru looks bad. I hope he's ok.
#244re: Project Runway 5
Posted: 8/21/08 at 12:17pmI'm tired of Terri. But I'm happy for Joe. He should have won the first challenge with the pasta dress or for the Olympics.

Joe's designs are always good but he strikes me as kind of arrogant and I find him annoying..
The opposite is true of Blaine. I don't like anything really he designs but he's so fun to watch...

Last night was my favorite episode so far, and I'm glad Daniel is out. I just can't get into this season for some reason.
As for Ru, He was on Tori & Dean last week or the week before and he looked fine. He wasn't in drag. Last night he did look bad, I'm blaming that wig.

I've been almost indifferent to this season. I watch if I home, but I don't make a point to.
No one's standing out. There isn't even a bad guy, like Santino. There are just a few whiners and Suede.

I feel Blaine should have gone home last night....
.... oh.. and I LOVE Acid Betty and Sherry Vine( Saw her perform in Berlin with my friend Epiphany)
#249re: Project Runway 5
Posted: 8/21/08 at 2:15pmI liked Blaine's outfit the least, but I mind him less than Daniel.
