The person who was eliminated deserved it!
Great episode. I love the Olympics and cannot wait for Friday!

Korto did a great job, but I thought John deserved to place first tonight. He designed a terrific looking piece of sportswear that would genuinely work perfectly at the opening ceremonies. I knew Korto would win, though, since she got all of the airtime about her tragic wartorn childhood/fleeing to America, etc.
Stella is totally predictable and inflexible and all leathah leatha leathah, but I can't help it--I enjoy watching her! She's a character. She won't and shouldn't go all the way, but she's just naturally good TV--she's not trying to "create" a persona like Blayne.

Everything Daniel has made thus far has looked like something a Pan Am stewardess would wear circa 1964. He has an ego the size of Michael Kors's aviator sunglasses, but I haven't seen the talent to back it up. And Jerrel's outfit was something I'd expect to see in a summer stock musical adaptation of The Great Gatsby.
Terri deserved to win last night. To make such a complicated outfit in less than twelve hours, and make it flawlessly, is a major achievement. Korto's outfit was stunning, though. Joe's didn't do it for me--very junior varsity cheerleader.

I find it interesting that they criticize Jennifer (the one who was eliminated last night) for always designing the same thing, regardless of the challenge when Stella does the exact same thing. Not EVERYTHING can be biker/rocker/leather.
I guess Stella offers more tv 'drama', while Jennifer was kind of bland.
My one comment in defense of Jennifer is that she DID add 'gold' to the dress and around the trim of the jacket... which could possibly be Olympics-like. Daniel's dress was just a total miss.
Cannot STAND Tan-boy. He's not even good 'drama'.
And, even Tim Gunn is bugging me this season...

Addy, I hear you. I have yet to find anything that Stella has made so far, appealing. I was certain that the train wreck she created last night would have been eliminated. I see where the judges were going on this one, but all the bottom three outfits looked very well made. I kind of liked the Olympics cocktail dress.
As much as I like Apollo Anton Ono, I couldn't figure out why he'd be a guest judge. Couldn't they have found a female Olympian?
Heidi annoys me the most out of all of them.

I think Terri should've won last night, though I did like Korto's, I truly could see olympians wearing Terri's. A male version could easily be adapted...I loved it and she is my new fave (tho her hair is a wreck, no?!)
Joe's was okay, but I sure didnt like the "all these queens" comment...by the way, did you know he was straight? He likes to declare that distinction as much as that douchebag who was the first eliminated on Shear Genius...insecure much?
I like Ono, and he had some interesting critiques (as much as other celeb judges, anyway.)
I'd like to know exactly what the judges thought about Stella's belly button leather outfit...should've been in the bottom three...it was as off the mark as Jennifer's.
Daniel should've gone home. It did not represent the challenge and was hideous. Jennifer's was at least kind of cute.

His name is Joe? I thought it was John!
I thought his was more practical, for one thing. Korto's was obviously more chic, but linen wrinkles and high-waisted pants don't work on everyone. It helps to be tall--and not all of the athletes are. I was okay with the win, though, and would have been fine had Terri won, too. I like her.

Jerrell's was atrocious. I would have worn Jennifer's in a heartbeat over both his and Daniel's.
Jennifer was eliminated for being boring, not terrible.
It's really difficult for me to have a "favorite" this season (oh how I miss my Sweet Pea). I guess Kelli, Korto, and Terri (Chicago girl) are the closest I have to faves.

Addy, you and I might be the only ones to ever say a negative thing about Tim. I'm worse than you, though. He's bothered me from day one. More than anyone else on the show.
I don't think it's what he says or does, but the affected way he speaks.

The thing about Jennifer's was that you really couldn't tell it was gold unless you were right up on it. It just looked yellow and white striped from far away. IMO she needed to something red white and blue.
I liked Korto's and Terri's best. Daniel's was ridiculous, and Stella is annoying. John (joe?) was ok as well. Hmmm....can't remember Blaynes. What did it look like? Must not have been that interesting. Jerrel's was goofy as all get out.

My favorite outfit was the white long pants thing. I can't remember who designed it, but I loved it!
No one really looks like a winner yet, though.

It's funny, with Project Runway, I would expect to be blown away by everything I see coming down the runway, since these designers were picked out of thousands and thousands of people, but very rarely am I blown away, especially this season.
Kenley's design would have been in the bottom too, if she didn't have immunity. It was nice, but she was one of the people who designed something that wasn't relevant to the Olympics at all. I particularly disliked Jerell's.
I didn't care for Korto's, although I could see it at the Olympics opening.
I actually liked Blayne's design silhouette, but the overall design was very 80s.
Jennifer I like as a designer. She's very J.Crew, but this last challenge, she really messed up.
I can not stand Stella. There is no way she's going to win, or be in the Top 3.

Posted: 8/7/08 at 9:36pmI don't like Stella either, but I think she's the closest thing to drama that they have this season. They have to keep someone on just for the dishing factor. yech. She's not even fun to talk about!

I was just strolling around town with my friend Luke when we saw Wesley and the one who he's going out with (who was already eliminated), hanging outside of Housing Works on 17th. I bet Wesley was checking out the vintage clothes!

Posted: 8/9/08 at 4:41pmI thought Wesley was the one who was already eliminated, and Daniel (his boyfriend) is still in it?

Posted: 8/9/08 at 4:55pmHaha, as usual I have it wrong. I know Wesley was staring at my fab sunglasses, though!

I get a lot of comments on these. They're sunglasses outside, and then they turn into regular glasses inside. I read that Wesley is wild about fab sunglasses. Every time I turned around, he was looking at me. (and I know he didn't think I was hot).
