Can't wait.
Planning to watch the 'Casting Special' as well as 'Project Runway' tonight. I hear there is a twist with the contestants on the first episode.

Will we get an unconventional materials challenge first, or at all, this season? I hope the challenges are more interesting and challenging than recent seasons.

NYAd Gal - who do you like? I dunno, most of the outfits looked like schmattas to me..but hey, it's only week 1. I like the older guy, and the red haired girl who made that crazy clown get up. At least it shows a POV.

One of the best season openers to date! Bert's dress was divine and I love that Anya showed the judges that she wasn't just telling them what they wanted to hear. That outfit was fierce and brilliantly tailored. I'd expect no less of a Miss Trinidad and Tobago. They always rock the Miss Universe Pageant.

I hadn't watched the show until mid-season last year; my wife and daughters have been fans, and I got dragged into it. But we did watch it last night. While I haven't made the effort to learn the names of these folks yet, I have to think the old guy will be a contender, as will the cancer survivor and the beauty queen. I also think Barbie may surprise; I thought her outfit belonged in the top three rather than the cancer survivor.
And does the Mormon guy claim to be straight?
That old guy needs to modernize his styling, and soon. His clothes were so modern, but the hair & makeup were out of the 70s, and not in a good way.

There are two Mormon guys on the show...one openly gay and the bald guy -- who did say he was looking for Ms. Right.
I didn't care for the "road to" show -- but did like the actual show. So glad the old guy didn't tank -- and thrilled that he won.
Next week is "unusual materials" show.

Loved Bert and Anya.
Have to learn the names, but actually thought there were some interesting pieces, and that there are some diverse personalities. Hopefully one character won't dominate. Am looking forward to the season!
Agree with SOMMS, that this was one of the best season openers. Really loved it.

Yes. That was fun. I am interested in just about everybody, and I think they made the right call at elimination. I like Bert a lot. He seems like a good guy. I also love Tim Gunn's expressions during the panel judging to figure out the 16 competitors. Good times!

Did anyone watch tonight? I think Nina has horrible taste. Was disappointed with the winner. I agreed with Heidi.

The aquarium crystal outfit was very superb, but after these 1st 2 episodes, I don't see too much talent this season - yet.. Anyway, where are the careers of multitudes of former contestants? I always liked JAY (from the 1st season, the best). Chloe Dao has some ****ty looking rags she's been hawking for a few yrs on QVC. The rag trade is HARD to sustain. These "(un)reality' shows are pretty much getting sooo boring now. The same thing, over & over, & over. Just bitchfests between quirky personalities.
There's a new fashion type show I surfed thru last wk on the Sundance Ch. The Lead (Asian) guy/fashion guru, forgot his name, is kinda of annoying, but the premise of the show is pretty good.

That show is All On The Line with Joe Zee, the Creative Director at Elle and this is it's second season. He worked for Nina Garcia at Elle for about a year before she left for Marie Clare.

I thought the winning outfit was awful, and when it was included in the final six, I thought it was for the bottom 3. I thought the birdseed dress should have won.

^ That's what I thought too. The birdseed dress was my favorite too. The fish tank rock one was nice, but the bird mirror put that in 2nd for me because I thought it was stupid. But, I think I would have worn Bert's horrible dress over Olivier's winning dress.

The birdseed dress was my favorite as well. And how did the wee-wee pad skirt NOT get eliminated? It was hideous, unispired and lazy. At least the other two in the bottom had outfits that looked like they required some effort. I hope we're not in for another season of the Nina Kors Show with random nonsense and power trips.
