I agree with you Borstal, unfortunately the trend seems to be to give it to established designers. Chloe had a successful Dallas Boutique and Jeffrey had an established LA business. I think PR learned a lot from the Jay fiasco and want to work with business professionals and not "artists" who knit in their mother's living room.

It seems like the days of finding the "talented unknown" are over for Bravo's reality shows. Last season on Top Chef, more than half of the contestants either owned their own restaurants or were executive chefs at major urban eateries.

I don't really mind. These shows are about doing something you have to teach yourself how to do. We're a country obsessed with amateurism so it makes a nice change. That's what makes designers like Christian (or other relatively inexperienced designers from other seasons) exciting.

Why is Christian so loathesome? At first I found him a bit annoying, but he really grew on me. He's a bit catty but he's harmless (and, quite honestly, I usually agree with his commentary and nod in agreement when he trashes someone's design on camera. And he does it the right way, like Kathy Griffin says...behind their backs !). Also, he has SO much promise it's exciting. So he thinks his designs are fabulous. Big deal. Nine out of ten times, they ARE.

And he's not TOTALLY full of himself...he worries about failing, he was openly insecure about the (very real) possibility of getting the boot last week, thanks to having to co-design a dress with the Jersey girl from hell. He also admitted that the dress sucked (which it did).

I loved Santino, too, by the way.

I'm with you Blue. I was annoyed by him at first, but I think his hairdo was the reason. It's more than a hairdo, it's an attitude. But gradually, I got to know him better, and I like him. He's a youngster, 21, right? Pretty talented guy, and I always say that if you got it, it's okay to be secure about it.

Omg, I HATED Santino...

I know people like Christian. I feel like the ego is a self defense mechanism. You gotta forgive him for it 'cus you know it's only masking a real fear of failure, and it's not like he isn't working really hard.

I really hate people who aren't anything special and act like they're god's gift to whatever it is they do. That annoys me. Anyone watch the supermodel show? I want to punch Ronnie in the face.

I want Mr. March to get some love, too. I just love him, and I really, really hope the judges aren't just not turning up their noses at the costume making fat boy daring to enter the "serious design" arena. He's had one or two clunkers, but when he gets it right, his stuff is great. I loved his first outfit (the purple gown), the Hershey's dress and the prom dress (it was my fave last week).

And is Jillian on a valium drip or what?

I'm with you blueroses! I love Chris. I think he's playing the game, too. Unlike Rami, Chris knows that he has to show the judges another side of his talents. They already expect costume, over-the-top from him and he keeps sending down (like you said, with the exception of a couple) understatedly chic clothes. He's been eliminated (as he reminds people when they freak out...I love it when he's like, "Yeah I know...I was elimated."), but he got that chance to come back and he's trying to do whatever he can to stay. Plus he's a nice guy. I know there has to be a couple divas and drama, but it's nice to have the pleasant personalities in there, too. Love Chris!

I don't really take Chris all that seriously I guess but he is a nice guy. I don't think he's one of the more talented designers but he's at least very competent.

Christian has grown on me too. I couldn't stand him until last week when he actually showed he is human and is not as cocky as I thought. He is a good designer. I like Chris to; he has really stepped up and is making the most of his second chance. I like that he has a good sense of humor and isn't a total stress case. There is no way Ricky will make it to the finals unless everyone else gets some strange illness and have to suddenly leave the show. Can you imagine the sob stories we would have to deal with if he made it to the finals.

WARNING: IMMATURE VENTING WILL OCCUR

I don't get cable since I rarely home, and rarely watch TV, so i always just watch it with my neighbor. Well, she bailed one me AT 9:55 PM!!! I'm mad. Its not a big deal, but she just decided to do something else tonight. We watch it together EVERY WEEK!! And she bailed at the last second without calling me. GRRR!

Yes, I do relize that I'm acting like a 12 year old girl, but how else is a gay guy supposed to get his kicks? I should be thankful this is my biggest problem right now.

I agree joey. While Ricky's outfit was the best he's done yet (which isn't saying much), I thought the other three top designs were far better. I would have picked any of them to win.

Very glad Jillian is still in.
