At some point between the vet closing at 5pm and opening this morning my dear Luna went to sleep and did not wake up.

It breaks my heart to know that she'll never come to the door when I come home from work just to say hello.

Diva, they could be sisters.

Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers. I was not expecting it to happen this way. We had hoped for her to come home and have some more time with us.

Strange thing is Storm woke me up early this morning wanting me to pet her. She never does that. She sleeps with me most nights and we'll inadvertently disturb each other every now and then. But last night she kept trying to push my arm up with her head so I would pet her. That's very unlike her. But, it's very like Luna.

I think cats are much more aware than we think they are. I am constantly surprised by mine. They have an intuition and can sense emotional changes. It's sometimes keener than humans.

I think I should just change the title of the thread so people who haven't read it since Friday don't think they're getting any updates on her progress.

Eris, I am sorry for your loss.

My first cat has been gone for over 7 years, and I still cry when I think about him - when you love something, you love something.

You were lucky to have Luna for as long as you did, and she you.

I know that it sounds corny, but the Rainbow Bridge did give me some comfort.

I am so sorry for your loss. I grew up with a Tortie named Luna. She wasn't especially fond of me because as a young child I carried her around in a bear hug and gave her bubble baths. But every time I was sick or upset she always crept up and laid with me. Your Luna's spirit will be with you for a long time.
