I"m so sorry. A pet dying is so sad to me that I kept from reading the thread each day. My thoughts are with you.

I'm so sorry for your loss. When my ferrets passed, a friend sent me this:

I hope it helps.

Grief is the price we pay for love. There could be less grief but only if there was less love. Never found anyone willing to go for that.
Sorry for your loss

Thank you everyone for your kind thoughts and comments. It's been difficult and I'll just cry at random intervals. So many little things jump out at me. Not seeing that little face peering down the basement steps while I was doing laundry (she wouldn't come down; just wait for me at the top of the stairs). Not being greeted with a "hello" when I come home from work or a "good morning" when I come downstairs. She used to stare after me when I was leaving for work as if to say "No, don't go." Not finding little "presents" (socks, scrunchies, etc) outside my bedroom door.
When I picked up Luna for that one overnight at home on 9/23 I paid the bill at the vet which ended up being around $770. Luna went back the next day and was there until she passed this past Saturday. She'd had another surgery since then and had been boarded at the vet for a week. The bill was $42. We were only charged for the cremation. Our vet is great

I'm bumping this thread because I just wanted to share this. Life won't be the same without Luna but the healing has begun and this little stinker is doing what she can to make it happen
