Columbo star Peter Falk has died today, RIP to one of my fave detectives x
Underrated actor. Loved him in so many movies: Pocketful of Miracles, The Cheap Detective, Murder by Death, The Great Race and Penelope (both with Natalie Wood) and as the unforgettable narrator of The Princess Bride (in which he also played "Grandfather") and of course his most famous role as Lt. Columbo a role he took on starting in 1968 in a Steven Spielberg directed tele-movie, "Prescription: Murder".
May he R.I.P.
"Prescription: Murder" wasn't directed by Spielberg, it was directed by Richard Irving. I had a good friend who was featured in it. She loved working with Falk, and wasn't surprised at all when he rose to TV stardom with that role.
I also loved him in Wings of Desire, Reg. Hell, I even loved him in It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World as one of the cabdrivers!
RIP
"As you wish!" RIP!
He was great in Robin & The 7 Hoods
Anyone remember him in one of his first tv appearances with Inger Stevens in the drame " The Price Of Tomatoes". I believe he plaued a truckdriver
Im Columbo, you knew he would get the culprit at the end but you still enjoyed watching him get there.
I don't know why I was under the impression Speilberg directed this but since Besty knows EVERYTHING about EVERYTHING I do stand corrected!
Check out "A Woman Under the Influence" if you haven't seen it.
Sad. I've loved his voice since I first saw The Princess Bride - a perfect story-teller! I was actually just watching him in a rather bizarre movie with Maggie Smith and Truman Capote only a couple of days ago. RIP
That bizarre movie was the wonderful "Murder by Death." Check out its companion piece, "The Cheap Detective."
Will do that - only saw the last half of Murder By Death, so I'll have to go back and check the first half out first!

The first time I ever saw him was as Jeff in a TV version of BRIGADOON with Robert Goulet and Sally Anne Howes. He had great comic timing.
Loved him since "Murder Inc." Great as the villan, comic and hero- so versatile.
