Right. I don't think you want to argue with Deb Monk, Corine. She's in there all the time. She will TAKE YOU DOWN.

The Pillsbury Doughboy will take Corine down.

And, being the volutuous sort, Ms. Monk apparently makes up 99% of the people working on Broadway.
Craig, be fair, how is a person supposed to find out the name of the man who played Mr. Bentley in this day and age?

I had sushi tonight. Mmmm sushi! It wasn't from Raku, though.

If it wasn't at Raku then you denied yourslelf the pleasure of watchin one of the waiters take a siesta in full view of the passersby.

I have eaten at Kodama and I never liked it. I did find a wonderful place for fruity drinks, fabulous atmosphere and beautiful sushi.
I am happy to report that Bamboo 52 is my new sushi hangout.
I ate there tonight and I love the fabulous waitstaff and food.
But the drinks are the best. I had a great Sake Sangria and mango Mohjito.
PS I don't believe in violence. Make love, not war is my motto.

After eating at Kodama several years ago I had to go to the emergency room. I got a tapeworm and I am sorry, I will never return.
Good, more for me.

It was awful. (I had to take massive antibotics) Actually, Namo was the one who helped me get cured. It was awful. My stomach made horrible noises and growling sounds. It took a very long time to get better. I got it at Kodama. I am sure I could have gotten it other places but it was from Kodama.
It was SCARY.
It was SCARY.

With antibiotics, less is more - the more you take, Corine, the less effective they will be in the future.

The doors haven't shut on Raku and you're already going somewhere else? How is that going to save Raku?

Corine, I remember you had stomach issues but certainly nothing involving a tapeworm. They'd give you antiparasitic medication not antbiotics for tapeworms, and the thing is, if there was even a chance that you got that from sushi (or even garden variety food poisoning, which they wouldn't give you an antibiotic for either) you would never be able to even think about consuming it again without feeling really sick. That's the way the body protects itself from serious illness. Unfortunately, when tapeworms end up in human hosts, they generally cause no symptoms until months and even years later.

I ate at Raku last evening. Also the day before.

I wasn't aware that food poisoning and tapeworms were the same thing.

"I wasn't aware that food poisoning and tapeworms were the same thing."
Neither one of those ailments calls for antibiotics, as Namo said.
Anyway, eating a lot of sushi is taking somewhat of a risk healthwise. Especially if you're having sashimi-even the highest rated Japanese restaurants have served bad raw fish from time to time, I'm sure.
I'm always nervous eating the pre-packaged sushi which you can get anywhere nowadays. I'm waiting for them to sell it at Duane Reade next.

I still don't see how frequenting another sushi place before it closes helps to save it. But perhaps there are mysteries of life I was never supposed to understand.

Wait, was it food poisoning or a tape worm? And did this have anything to do with your thyroid condition? Did you lose any weight?
Seriously, did you call the health department, Corine? That is a serious thing and if you got ONE piece of raw fish that made you THAT ill, I am sure there are others out there.
I am thinking class action lawsuit! $$$$$$$
Oh, and how did Namo help you through your illness? Did he hold your hair back as you hurled?

Cute little guy. Sorry, like eating raw oysters, you assume some risk in eating raw fish.

"The doors haven't shut on Raku and you're already going somewhere else? How is that going to save Raku?"
Maybe it has something to do with the fact that she's already switched the advertising banner on her site from Raku to Bamboo 52. Shill much?
By the way, does anyone know if there's any truth to the story I heard about the method they used to use to remove tapeworms? I heard that people did it at home by holding a bit of food by the invaded person's butthole to entice the worm to poke it's head out. Then they would grab it and pull for all they were worth. Hmmm, this sounds like a job for Myth Busters!

Sueleen-gross for the first thing to see in the morning!!
Artscallion-you're right-that is one of the remedies for removing the worm.
I had a friend who picked up a tapeworm from falling into the Nile River. No joke. That pesky worm made it impossible for my friend to gain any weight. He had to drink all kinds of protein and weight gaining concoctions just to stay at a steady weight.
