Season Two starts on Tuesday. It's my guiltiest pleasure, and I can't wait!

I've never been able to sit through an entire episode of the OC or Atlanta versions. I almost didn't make it through the first NYC episode, either, but partly the location is a draw (I live in the city) and it's just so amazing to me how these women are unafraid of showing the world their shallow ugliness. It's cringe-inducing, but I love to hate these people.

Yeah, the OC one is pretty annoying, but I actually got a kick out of the Atlanta one.

I guess I'll get sucked into this one too! LOL!

*slowly raises hand in a very guilty fashion* Okay- I watch them all and they all have one housewife that's extremely annoying. I guess everyone has their favorite annoying one- for me- it's Vicki from OC, Kim from Atlanta, and Ramona from NYC. Personally, I don't know why they put some women on the show who aren't even married because they're not housewives. Anyway, NYC is more sophisticated to me. OC is the most fake and superficial. Atlanta is almost like OC but the women have real parts- if you know what I mean! (and they don't need Botox) I'm looking forward to meeting the new snobby one on NYC that appears to be getting on Bethany's skin. Stockard- you would probably like NYC- c'mon!

LOL, me too. Now supportivemom, out of Vicki, Kim, and Ramona, who do you think is THE most annoying one? LOL. For me, probably Ramona and Kim are tied for being just plain nasty. I might have placed Tamryn lower than Vicki.

StockardFan, I think you will really enjoy the NYC gals. Of the 3 shows, I think I probably enjoy it the most.

Wow Lauren- that's a hard one! Kim is just funny to me. Although Ramona is annoying- she at least knows who she is and she's not afraid to speak up. Vicki probably annoys me the most. I hate her voice, I hate how she has to be the center of attention (and I think it's funny how she doesn't like Gretchen because she always has to be the center of attention- she steals Vicki's spotlight). I also hate how Vicki interferes in her children's lives, works on her computer when she's with her friends, and has the constant need to be liked. I guess she's the saddest character to me. Tamra is just a plain backstabber. And sorry ladies- Gretchen IS the HOTTEST one!

Oh, but Gretchen is such a gold digger!
I'm looking forward to the NYC gals. They're prabably my favorite. I do miss Kim's singing though...

"You have two kinds of shows on Broadway – revivals and the same kind of musicals over and over again, all spectacles. You get your tickets for The Lion King a year in advance, and essentially a family... pass on to their children the idea that that's what the theater is – a spectacular musical you see once a year, a stage version of a movie. It has nothing to do with theater at all. It has to do with seeing what is familiar.... I don't think the theatre will die per se, but it's never going to be what it was.... It's a tourist attraction." Stephen Sondheim

Gretchen is a gold digger- but she's also beautiful! They're all into money on that show anyway! Of the children, my daughter loves Kara the most. I also can't believe they keep bringing back Slade and Jo. I guess they have to publicize her CD that she's been working on for years- ha! Have you all seen Bonnie Hunt imitate Kim on her talk show- it is dead on!

THE NYC HOUSEWIFES ARE MY FAVORITE

On the NY one I like Lou-Anne as she seem the most level headed, the one I can't abide is the unattactive blonde social climber who has the husband who likes to choose his wife's dresses. Ugh.

LouAnn seems level-headed until you realize how seriously she takes her status as a countess. Please. She's the fourth wife of The Count, as she likes to refer to him.

I caught part of the marathon today (I know, I know...) and in one episode she went to "volunteer" helping an underprivileged woman prepare for a job interview. She talked about it as one of her "duties" as a countess. It was pretty clear that she had never done it before and that it certainly wasn't one of her regular gigs, getting down and dirty with the little people.

THIS is why I love that show... I can get so much aggravation out of my system just by channeling it at the housewives. It's SO therapeutic!

I watch it because it makes my home life seem wholesome and me a good father. I prefer the NY company over the OC and Atlanta tours!

I've watched both the OC and NY...never saw an episode of Atlanta, though.

I am always curious to see how much is "manufactured". Beyond the relationships...most of the NY cast didn't know each other before filming started. There were some pretty nasty accuasations surrounding the Atlanta show.

If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it? These are DISCUSSION boards, not mutual admiration boards. Discussion only occurs when we are willing to hear what others are thinking, regardless of whether it is alignment to our own thoughts.

What boggles my mind is that after the nastiness of last season, any of them would come back for more. And its not just revealing their own dirty laundry. The whole family is pulled into it. I feel kinda bad for the kids, having their issues aired publicly with no say in the matter.

Or maybe fame...any fame...is perceived as a cool thing. Who knows?

Aaah, my mom is visiting and she's watching golf. And Henry is watching Spongebob upstairs. And I don't want to hang out in the basement alone.

And they're not even playing golf, it's on a weather delay! Now my husband has turned on a car race. I don't know which is worse.

Yeah. Kim's hair.

"How much do you think these women get paid? How can we even find that out?"

I think I read in an article where Jill said they only got paid $8000 for the first season. I believe it because I know someone who was offered a job on one of those reality shows as one of the on-air judges/experts. He turned it down for a variety of reasons, but he did say the pay was paltry (but more than what the housewives made, LOL).
