Ms. Boonstra -- cause, she played music in class, and she loved it when I broght in show tunes. How people were shocked to find out that I was gay is BEYOND ME.

I went through 3 cars in the space of as many months. Wrecked my LeBaron, sent my Accord back to the dealer, and ended up with the Saturn SC2 I still drive

We had every fast food joint imaginable within 5 minutes of school. But I did enjoy Wendy's--5 chicken nuggets, a Ceaser side salad, and a water all for $2.10 after tax :)

Nope. Now once I got to college...

Nope.

Not in high school...I seem to miss a lot of classes these days

Oh, yes. I took my boyfriend, who was also the student body president and on the football team. Prom is how he decided to come out.

1) Where did you graduate from and what year?
A medium-sized blue collar high school on the Texas Gulf Coast in 1996.

2)Did you have school pride?
A small amount. I was in the band and was forced to go to every football game, and every once in a while, I'd be caught up in the moment. Then I'd remember how much I hated all the football players.

3) Was your Prom a night to remember?
Oh, yes. I had just come out to and broken up with my "girlfriend" about a week before it.

4) What was your fav. song you danced to the night of PROM?
The Fugees' version of "Killing Me Softly"

1) Where did you graduate from and what year?
Defiance high School in Defiance, OH in 2000

2)Did you have school pride?
A ton. I was an athletic trainer for the football and basketball teams. And yes, I spent a lot of time around half-naked athletes. I even got to wrap a few groin injuries.

3) Was your Prom a night to remember?
Yeah. My date was the pitcher for the local college baseball team. And a very sweet date.

4) What was your fav. song you danced to the night of PROM?
I don't really remember. I was too busy having a good time to remember what was played.

Yup. I was on the yearbook staff for three years.

I have no idea. But I worked in a music store for a few years in HS and ended up amassing quite a collection.

We didn't really listen to the radio. We'd cruise in my friend Kelly's red convertible to Dave Matthews, Rusted Root, Phish and whatever pop princess my friend Mikyong was currently into.

NHS, Choir, Wrestlerettes (uh, basically the wrestling team fanclub), French Club, Yearbook, Quiz Team, DARE Role Model, countless others that I can't remember. I wanted to hang out with the theater crowd but I was too busy fixing up injured athletes.

11)What was your fav class(es) in High School?
English, especially senior year. French, Studyhall, Anatomy, Physics.

12) Who was your big crush in Highschool?
It probably should have been the guy I dated off and on all the way through. But it was actually my best friend Andrew. He's smart, funny, sweet and absolutely beautiful. He now lives out in California with his partner, Christian. I was one of the first people he came out to. We're still good friends.

13) Would you say you've changed a lot since highschool?
In some ways, yes. And in some, not so much. But I'm very happy with where I am in my life.

14) What do you miss the most about it?
Spending the whole day with my friends. How much simpler life was. Making fun of most of the cheerleaders.

15) Your worst memory of HS?
Finding out in the fall of senior year that my best friend was pregnant. But now I have a beautiful, funny, smart 6 year old "niece," so even that turned out wonderful. My second worst? Being cheated on several times by the first real boyfriend I ever had.

Yes. A 1990 Olds Cutlass. We called her Eileen after the song by Dexy's Midnight Runners, still one of my faves.

Royal blue and white. Go bulldogs.

Townsend Harris High School (Queens, NY), Class of '04 (Marlene, my brother is in the Class of '07 too!)

Yeah.

3) Was your Prom a night to remember?
Absolutely. Probably the after-prom celebration moreso than the actual prom, though.

4) What was your fav. song you danced to the night of PROM?

Nope, just the one from the year I graduated.

Shades of Purple - M2M (but that was in 8th grade)

12) Who was your big crush in Highschool?
When I was a freshman, I had a huge crush on a junior who took the same bus as I did. I was probably still infatuated with him until midway through sophomore year.

13) Would you say you've changed a lot since highschool?
Not as much as I would have hoped.

14) What do you miss the most about it?
Seeing all of my good friends every day.

15) Your worst memory of HS?
First semester of junior year, finding out that my English teacher was giving everyone a week to completely re-do a group project - after my group had already presented ours.

Nope, I still haven't passed my road test.

1 Who were your fav. teachers?
Ms. Chung - English class is so much more fun when the teacher actually encourages you to find a dirty interpretation of everything you read.
Ms. Betancourt - Very nice and easy-going, but also managed to really prepare us for the AP Spanish exam.
Mr. Hagerty - Sure, I didn't learn much Latin in his class, but I was having too much fun to care.

19) Did you own a cell phone in highschool?
Yep, and since we technically weren't supposed to have them with us on school property, I just went to the bathroom any time I wanted to make a call or check my voicemail.

Only during senior year - before that, we weren't allowed to.

The Queens College food court (my high school was on the campus, and during senior year we took courses at the college).

Only if my bus got stuck in traffic.

1. Gradutated Bellport High School in 1975, 2. Some school pride. 3. I never attended the prom. 4. So I never danced at the prom. 5. I threw out my year books. 6. No first CD in high school...they hadn't been invented yet. 7. Favorite movie: Fiddler on The Roof 8. Number 1 college choice: University of Missouri Columbia. 9. WALK and WINS were radio stations. 10. Organizations: Band, Choir, Drama Club, School Newspaper, French club, and Spanish club. 11. Favorite classes: English, Social Studies, Biology, and Music. 12. Biggest crush was on Glen P. He was two years younger than I so we never went public with it. 13. I have changed a great deal since high school.16.I miss my music teacher. 15. Worst memory: My father worked in our small school district as a business manager, AV coordinator and teacher. He was always lurking around. 16. I did not have a car. 17. 1) Where did you graduate from and what year?
A fairly large suburban high school in MN. Class of 2000.

2)Did you have school pride?
Insanely. School pride and tradition was huge at my high school and I was very engrossed in it.

3) Was your Prom a night to remember?
Not particularly. It was fun but not terribly memorable.

4) What was your fav. song you danced to the night of PROM?
Wonderful Tonight - Eric Clapton. I think that was our theme that year too.

The first CD I ever got was a Christmas present. It was All 4 One, I forget what the CD was titled.

What was your number 1 choice of College in HS?
The University of Wisconsin - Eau Claire. They had a stellar music program. I ended up going there and hating it, transferred after my freshman year.

concert choir, jazz choir, marching band, concert band, drama club, all the theater productions, and speech team.

A young man who I am not going to mention by name, but I first developed a crush on him when I was 12 years old that still lingers to this day, despite the fact that he lives on the other side of country and is now married.

Not too much. I am slightly more confident and outgoing, but only slightly.

Having friends that I really connected to and related with.

I had several classmates die during my three years of high school, that was always pretty awful.

Not until my senior year. I had enough credits to graduate after first semester of my senior year, but I stuck around because I wanted to go to prom and graduate with all my friends. So, everything I took that semester was just for fun. I ended up skipping about 1/3 of the time.

25) When it comes time for the reunion will you be there?
Yes. My curiousity will get the best of me and I'll have to know what people are up to. Who got fat, who got bald and who came out.

My 5 year reunion was this past summer and I was one of only about 50 people that showed up (I graduated with a class of 600).

I went to the Junior and Senior Prom my Junior year, and my Senior Prom my Senior year. But my favorite was my Senior Prom.
