"Colbert is toast after this latest flap." -- Mr Roxy
And, by toast, we mean the official new host of Late Night on CBS.
toast I say
Wow. That's exciting. But I'm really going to miss The Colbert Report.
Too bad Roxy won't be able to see this when he responds to say he didn't see it because you're blocked.
Maybe he meant the toast of late-night television.
Hilarious Colbert quote: "I’m thrilled and grateful that CBS chose me. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I have to go grind a gap in my front teeth.”
I'll miss his wit when discussing politics, but I'm very happy for him. Colbert vs. Fallon will be an interesting war, ratings-wise.
I like him though I admit to not being an avid watcher of the Report. I usually catch the last few minutes while waiting for @midnight to go on.
Another Winner is Craig Ferguson
He had the right of first refusal and he winds up with a $ 5 million dollar pay day for not getting it. Glad he staying where he is as not sure his quirky humor would be a good fir for the 11:35 slot
Somewhere Suey Park is, like, miffed.
More good news for Broadway shows. Colbert loves Broadway!
I have a funny feeling they will be moving it to LA.

Ummmmm. Mr Roxy can't see this thread because he has me BLOCKED.
Mr Roxy is posting in this thread which means he is logged in.
Which means he does not have me BLOCKED.
If we think Mr Roxy knows how to use the block function I have a bridge I would like to sell you.
Mr Roxy's proclamations, about who he has blocked, about Colbert's future, are toast. Stick a fork in him.
Doesn't Colbert live in Montclair, NJ? Wouldn't it just make more sense to keep using the Ed Sullivan?
Namo - those were my exact reasons behind posting the link to this topic in the other thread. And, we don't really need two threads about it.
Yes, Colbert lives in Montclair, and he has young children in school. I wouldn't expect the show to move to LA.

Someone put a link to this thread in the thread he started on the same topic.
I see no reason why Colbert wouldn't keep the show in NY.
There are already two other late night shows in NYC. They will all be fighting for the same guest pool.
"He had the right of first refusal and he winds up with a $ 5 million dollar pay day for not getting it."
He was certainly lucky he had you negotiating his contract. Did you handle Colbert's as well?
Kimmel shoots in LA, so there's that booking competition, as well.
And Conan is still out there too
Let's just split the difference and move Colbert somewhere in the middle like Detroit.

All ready Seth and Jimmy F are rotating guests.
I don't understand this supposed Ferguson thing. He got first refusal, which means it was his decision to take the job or not. But he gets $5 million for turning it down? Shouldn't it be either/or?

Do we *know* he had right of first refusal? I would have to say our source in this thread pulls a lot of stuff out of his ass.
