You're welcome. Anyone know where Maya was?

Maya has left the show. Apparently her contract was only through the calendar year 2007.
I love the new girl Casey Wilson. And I thought it was awesome they got the real Obama Girl to appear in the opening.

The opening sketch was brilliant & so close to the truth it is scary .
Unfortunately, the first sketch after that was lame & I tuned it out. SNL strength has always been their political skits like last nights that are devastating at times.

Posted: 2/24/08 at 2:24pmI think it's odd that so many folks are online raving about the "Milkshake" sketch- it was a one joke idea milked (sorry) into a 5 minute yawn. The audience sat through it stoically- the only flop in a great night. They should have done one of the old style intros and left it at that ""I drink your Milkshake!" will not be seen tonight so we can bring you this Democratic Debate."

I've watched SNL on and off since it came on the air. It has always had moments of brilliance but it's very rare that more than a third of any particular show is very good.
There have been rare times when a half of a show was really good but more times when the entire show has sucked.
One should go into SNL not expecting much so that you can be surprised when something really good actually comes along.
People who say that it has gotten worst should take a look at some of the skits from the early seasons. A number of them used to suck as well.

mattonstage, I believe Lorne Michaels left the show in the early 80s for 4-5 years, and only came back when the show was going to be cancelled.
I laughed through a lot of the show, knowing full well they probably blew their comedy load for the rest of the season. Gotta enjoy it while you can.

I liked most of the skits. At least, the first few minutes but most dragged. And dragged. I think some haven't stopped.
It was the first time we've watched in a while and I liked it.
