Has there been any mention of Alex Wong? I thought they were leaving the door open for him to return this season.

Doctors have not cleared Alex Wong to return to the competition yet. According to Nigel, Alex's recovery has not gone as well as they'd hoped it would.

I was also wondering about Alex Wong, so thanks for the info...what a shame though! He is such a gifted dancer, I hope his career isn't over...but a nearly a year later, this doesn't sound promising.

I also like Melanie Moore very much, but I'm not sure which man would be my favorite yet. I really liked Thursday night's episode. How nice just to showcase the top 20 and not be their first time in front of screaming crowds to be competitive.

LOVED the number all the men did with the doors, and really loved Travis' number as well.

If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it? These are DISCUSSION boards, not mutual admiration boards. Discussion only occurs when we are willing to hear what others are thinking, regardless of whether it is alignment to our own thoughts.

Megan Mullally is going to be a guest judge on the show this week. I think she's hilarious and very talented, but I don't know how I feel about her judging a dance competition.

It's like when Ellen judged all those years back.. eh.

Also, Alex Wong only JUST started dancing again last week. Though I'd much rather have him return next season as a choreographer.

Why do you assume he'd be a good choreographer? Have you seen any of his work in that capacity?

OMG, I mentioned this last night when we caught up on last weeks program! So sad about Alex and hope he recovers completely. I hope he's eligible next year to compete.

The dancers are absolutely AMAZING this year! I mean- WOW! That's why the judges are commenting on their expressions as their dancing is just flawless. Although I'm glad they're making those comments because I hate watching great technical dancers just go through the steps with nothing else to add.

Travis' choreography makes me SO joyous. Loved both his numbers. It's going to be a heartbreaking season.

The musical theater kid from jersey is from my home town. I've seen him in a few things at the my alma matter (Rent - student edition, christmas shows etc). Talented kid.

i dont watch the show but thought I would share.

Tom1071, I actually said the same thing out loud about quarter to nine last night. I just couldn't see them getting rid of Mitchell after his beautiful solo last night (even though he wasn't able to perform earlier).

I agree with all three. Jess doesnt bother me as much as the woo kid...and he did not dance that great for his solo, so once they asked the injured kid and him to "dance off", I knew they were going to keep him. Clearly they want him to be a star of the show.

While I understand the sentiment that they should have more than one week to show themselves off and perhaps prove that they can pull off a different genre, I do feel that they (Idol, etc.) do this only when it's to keep a judges favorite.

I think many are in our camp of being sick of the wooooo which is why he was in the bottom.

I think they should keep everyone for two weeks and then start eliminating EVERY year or not, but dont just do it to suit themselves.

Doodle, I also thought that the contestants be given an opportunity to dance for two weeks before the eliminations begin. I thought Woo-Hoo guy was definitely the weakest of the bunch.

As soon as I saw that the majority of the bottom 7 were Nigel's favorites, I knew no one was going. The man has always been a master of voting manipulation. Always will be.

I always get a little ancy when they don't eliminate someone because all I can think about is the person next week that would have been safe if they had stuck to the rules. I feel like if people are picking up the phones and voting, than the judges need to respect that outcome and eliminate someone.
..on the other hand, I have had favorites of mine in the past saved by this twist.
