God told me there is some black chick impersonating her. She's pissed off. Watch out. It's a bad time to be on God's bad side.
She said the same thing to me and she looked exactly like Diana Ross in 'Mahogany'

I totally agree. My daughter auditioned for an Arts Magnet School for the Performings Arts in Dallas TX. She was told she did not make it, because the quota for whites was full!
Reverse discrimination? I think so!

Sometimes you can meet a man and a woman in t he same body. They're harder to find, but maybe that would be a good option for you.
Also, I should say slammin' sex is hard to find anywhere. Except from Matt_G.
o hells no i don't want a man/woman... i want a man and a woman. i like my men masculine and my women feminine.
"My daughter auditioned for an Arts Magnet School for the Performings Arts in Dallas TX. She was told she did not make it, because the quota for whites was full!"
Booker T. Washington SFTPA??
"Quota for whites" was full there? That's funny and quite inaccurate, not to mention wrong.

That is what happens with affirmative action.
Colleges should seek a diversity of minds, not a diversity of race and heritage. If both happen to be true in a case, so be it.
"Also, I should say slammin' sex is hard to find anywhere. Except from Matt_G."
I beg to differ. You never know who will surprise you.
White, black or whatever, there is no such thing as reverse discrimintion. Discrimination is discrimination. Period.

Which school? Thats odd. I dont think they should set quotas like that. If they are talented enough, it shouldnt matter what race they are...

Then listen to this case, honey.
A college has a points system, they count up points for each student and then I think that they'll use that in the admission process. (Not mentioning the name if others don't want me to - search for it, and you'll find it)
The SAT is given, at most, 12 points.
Race? 20 points.
I could get mediocre grades on my SATs, and if I was a total minority, I'd have an up on a white student who got almost a perfect score.
Fair, right? Not.
Controversial? Well I HATE DUMB PEOPLE! Sorry I didn't mean to yell. But stupid people just drive me nuts! Sorry for the rant... I do feel better now.
edited to fix spelling error
mom, ME TOO!
That is so unfair...if they are trying to make everything fair and give equal oppertunities, they are going about it the wrong way. I can understand wanting racial diversity in schools, and I am totaly for that, but is it really important enough to take oppertunities away from the kids who got the better SAT score?

That's just one case in many. Of course other systems do differ.
I want diversity, but I want a different kind of diversity. Put 200 black people in a classroom, and they're all voting for Bush. Then put 200 white people, who are also voting for Bush. You have a PHYSICAL diversity, but do you really have diversity in ideals and thinking? Not really.
Does anyone get that this is NOT what Martin Luther King Jr. dreamed of?

Perhaps a more important point: Does a high SAT score mean that you are serious, intelligent, and have something unique to offer the school and the world?
LadyG...I would love for you to spend just one day in the public school that I work at...
Is the rebel alliance in Star Wars, a group of terrorists? George Lucas doesn't think so. What do you think?

Erik, if I can predict what you are saying, that many public schools are in poor shape...I believe that there should be a list of the schools who are worse off, because THAT is what should be considered, not race. A city name or the FAFSA may be enough to determine what kind of education and lifestyle the student has.
Not all children who go to bad schools are minorities, and not all whites go to good schools. Race shouldn't be judged here- the numbers do prove that there is a point- but what about the richer minorities? Or the poor whites? They get ripped off in the end.
And BorstalBoy, no, the SAT score isn't everything, but in such a competitive school- it should matter a BIT (if not much) more than a student's RACE, shouldn't it?
Here's a story of an experience. An alumni of my high school- when she was a senior, she applied to Ivy League schools. She had a decent record, nice grades, and she was active. Her last name is Spanish (a very obvious one- Hernandez) BUT her mother is Irish- and she looks like her. Pale white face and red hair.
She was accepted to a great school, and in her schedule, they included all these Spanish classes...Spanish dance, culture, you name it. She was surprised, but laughed it off, she wanted to surprise the faculty anyway.
She was told "I thought that you were actually Spanish!" "We're so happy to increase the Hispanic contingent here" (before they saw her) etc. etc. And when she sees the faculty about her schedule, their mouths dropped open, and they even admitted that they thought she wasn't white.
Whatever it was, it's wrong. Race should NEVER be a factor.
