Thanks, doodle....I just have a cold. Yesterday was the worst of it I think.
Brett never speaks, does he? I feel like he never gets any screen-time.
Shambo reminds me of that woman who went to final 2 sort of randomly. The boy scout lady...Big Lil, I think her name was?
Big Lil was in the final 2? I lost interest halfway through that season.
Yeah, Big Lil even wore her Scout uniform in the finale. Not to be confused with "Scout", the sassy old hippie friend of Twila from the Vanuatu season. Shambo actually makes those two gals look like Bill Gates and Steve Wozniak.
Pearl Islands was one of those really bad seasons I was talking about. Sandra won. Remember her? Neither do I. The only nugget pitifully salvaged from that mess was the introduction of Hagrid...I MEAN RUPERT...who was later rejected by his own audience during the All Stars season.
I VAGUELY remember Sandra. I do remember Rupert though.
I found this website that has most of the Survivor series listed - with pictures, to help remind us who the heck has played this game!
I have a pretty good memory, but these visuals help!
It doesn't have the most recent seasons... (but those I remember!)
Survivor Contestants
I like lists.
I love Survivor, but it's amazing how much I realize I've forgotten!

Good finds, addy. I only remember up to Season 8. That must have been when I sort of lost interest. This season has been good though.
Didn't Jenna and Ethan get married? I loved Ethan....I was so glad he won his season.
what an ep tonight - one of the best in show history....
I cannot stand Shambo. She's suddenly become very arrogant and smug. Incredibly useless, ugly woman with a horrible mullet.
Tonight's ep was terrific.
My posts are disappearing on this thread, I bumped it last night and it's not there. Any hoo how ... great episode and I think Russell is living up to his own billing.
I'm not sure why it was such a great episode. I'm starting to root for Russell. I knew he was an ahole going in at least...I didnt realize the rest of the cast would be such idiots.
I love how he found his THIRD idol even with them chasing him around.
Why the eff didnt they blind side him? It wouldve been pretty obvious that he found it since he stopped looking for it! That Dave is the biggest doofus!
John...was it really worth voting off Laura? I know his tribemates are idiots, but now that it's even...he's got a target as one of the strongest and smartest.
Russ is the only one playing the game.
I wasn't that thrilled with the episode. To me, it just underlined the obvious stupidity we've seen from members of Galu week after week. The only reason I think Russell appears so smart is that they have assembled one of the dumbest casts in Survivor history. They assume Russell doesn't have the idol, so they all vote for him and it backfires. Then they assume he does have the idol (after such a failed feeble attempt to "find" the idol themselves) and make no attempt to flush it out or blindside him, but rather, reinforce his plan and split their own alliance. They had the numbers and they have pissed away their lead week after week. As much as I despise Russell, he certainly deserves to win thus far for being the only person to truly carry out any sort of strategy. Hell, even SHAMBO is looking like a genius compared to Kevin Spacey, Laura, the other brunette and whathisname.
SOMMS - I'll only say this once and then the subject must be dropped: No posts are disappearing. Ever. The edit message links always appear and when you click on Send PM, it efficiently takes you to the PM box of whom you wish to send a message.
Well, we all know that I drink heavily, Mr. Matt.
Of course. See, it's really your fault and your problem. Maybe when you've learned your lesson and stopped swigging Scope, the site will work properly for you again. Not that it's not working properly now. The site is gloriously glitch-free now and forever. Just like Cats.
Survivors had some hotties on it thats for sure.
Honestly, what makes for a better episode than having the idiots who COULD be sitting pretty and are arrogant about it getting their torches snuffed one after the other by an underdog? Russell is an ass, but he is PLAYING the game, and playing it very well. The idol move was brilliant - of course, Dave is a giant doofus, but the fact that Russell so easily exploits that makes him a great player. The fact that he could read the situation so well that he knew he didn't need to play the idol last night proves that he's smart player.
John did the right thing in switching - the stones are ridiculous - John has now managed to put himself above at least three others, and in a position to get himself farther (as opposed to potentially being sunk by the stone of doom or at best pulling fourth behind the other Galu members. I mean, he's not in a good position either way, but this at least gave him a fighting chance.
Russell is an ass, but he is PLAYING the game, and playing it very well.
He's playing the game, which is what makes him look like he's playing it well. Most everyone else is simply NOT playing the game or playing very poorly. It's sort of like saying a kid who made a C+ on his math test is a genius because everyone else made Ds and Fs. Russell's ability to find hidden immunity idols is unsurpassed. Beyond that, I don't think he's done anything extraordinary beyond what would be considered fairly average strategic game play in almost any other season. But the marketing and editing teams have done a bang-up job trying to convince us otherwise, which basically just leads me to believe they simply didn't have anything else interesting to latch onto all season.
The fact that he could read the situation so well that he knew he didn't need to play the idol last night proves that he's smart player.
Or it just means he listened to Shambo, Joe and the others on Foa Foa. He could have been blindsided or at least an attempt could have been made, but the fact that there wasn't is not indicative of Russell's awesome game play. John flipping was a smart move on his part and Shambo really gets the credit for reaching out to John. But Russell will certainly believe he is awesome and take credit for the vote (with Probst rewriting the plot in the previouslies next week to back up whatever Russell's opinion of himself will be).
Honestly, I'm rooting for Mick. He's been very good at keeping the target off his own back and staying out of the drama, letting the others self-destruct. Even with this latest immunity win, I doubt anyone will still be considering him a threat yet.
Of course, I thought Russell was going to be out relatively early this season, so what do I know? I certainly did not predict the unbelievably high level of stupidity in the majority of the contestants this season. John and Shambo's flipping sides have actually been the best two strategic moves thus far.
I'm just worried that Brett, who has barely said three words all season, will end up somehow winning.
I agree with Mister Matt...Russell is no genius, he just looks smart compared to the morons he's playing with.
I think addy is trying to tell us something. I don't know how I know this, since the site has not been having problems for several months now, but I just get this feeling she is trying to contact us through this thread.
There were two highlights last night:
-Shambo paying a large amount of money for a plate of slugs.
-Watching the smug smile get wiped off of Shambo's face at tribal council.
Meanwhile, this continues to be a group of complete morons playing this game. Why is everyone afraid of Russell?
Why is everyone afraid of Russell?
That is the biggest question of the season. I think everyone knows he's the biggest strategic threat, yet they do absolutely nothing about it. Sounds like he becomes a hot topic of discussion for next week, but they still would have to totally blindside him or flush out his idol first. They had an excellent chance to get rid of Russell when they assumed he found the second idol and doing nothing about it could have handed him a million dollars at that point. The fact that he got the third idol while a couple of them were following him around (why wasn't EVERYONE on his tail?) was just embarrassing.
All that controversy over the chicken and we never found out how it turned out. Was the chicken overcooked or did Dave have to admit Shambo was right? We still have no idea who Brett is or why he keeps popping up on our TV screens. Honestly, I think he's a production assistant who's getting paid extra to pose as another contestant.
Yeah, I wonder how that chicken turned out? I was thinking 2 hours seemed pretty long too.

I've actually am enjoying this season more than I thought I would. I don't like it when one person has control of the game the entire time like Todd who won "Survivor China." It was obvious from the first episode he would win it got boring and predictable. Even though Russell is in charge there are still other people who could win. Jaison could since he's not a very hated person and Natalie is like Amber from "Survivor All Satrs."
