No comment. None at all.
DADT To Remain In Place For Foreseeable Future
Is it bad that I'm at the point where I just don't care anymore?

Jordan, that's exactly where they want you to be. Burned out and turned off.

I wonder how this will affect Dollypop's masturbation fodder.

Congratulations. Can't wait for those who voted against it to give their reasoning.
Rachel is going to be on the war path tonight.
Flubber.

Lieberman might bring it to the floor, and they'll vote it right the f*ck down again, just to keep the faggots in their place.

President Do-Nothing pretends disappointment at the result he has striven so ardently to bring about ever since his lamented inauguration:
Just-released statement from Obama on the failed Defense bill and 'DADT' repeal:
I am extremely disappointed that yet another filibuster has prevented the Senate from moving forward with the National Defense Authorization Act. Despite having the bipartisan support of a clear majority of Senators, a minority of Senators are standing in the way of the funding upon which our troops, veterans and military families depend. This annual bill has been enacted each of the past 48 years, and our armed forces deserve nothing less this year.
A minority of Senators were willing to block this important legislation largely because they oppose the repeal of ‘Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell.’ As Commander in Chief, I have pledged to repeal this discriminatory law, a step supported by the Secretary of Defense and the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, and informed by a comprehensive study that shows overwhelming majorities of our armed forces are prepared to serve with Americans who are openly gay or lesbian. A great majority of the American people agree. This law weakens our national security, diminishes our military readiness, and violates fundamental American principles of fairness, integrity and equality.
I want to thank Majority Leader Reid, Armed Services Committee Chairman Levin, and Senators Lieberman and Collins for all the work they have done on this bill. While today’s vote was disappointing, it must not be the end of our efforts. I urge the Senate to revisit these important issues during the lame duck session.
Statement on Towleroad
If Obama thinks he going to get the gay vote next year, he's living in fantasyland. The man is a lying sack of shlt and I, for one, can't wait to get his ass out of the White House.

Honestly, unless he's going up against someone REALLY bad I think he's going to be a one term president.

Part of the fun of the coming couple of years is going to be seeing President Asswipe pretending that he's got all these victories to his credit. His overtures to the gays should be very entertaining indeed.
This isn't meant to be snarky...but do you guys honestly believe that a Republican President would be better for the Gay community? I can't imagine a planet in which they would be....
On a different note, I have not been a fan of Joe for quite some time, but all the hard work he is putting into repealing DADT has made me gain a lot of respect back for the man. In fact, I called his office today to thank him. I don't think the Lieberman camp is used to those type of phone calls....

Oh, Jesus.
The inevitable "would you prefer a Republican?" post...
Wendi --
NO, GODDAMN IT. A Republican President wouldn't have been better than the current Scumbag in Chief.
The point is that WE ALL EXPECTED OBAMA TO BE BETTER ON THIS.
And why?
BECAUSE HE MOTHERFUC*KING WELL SAID HE WOULD BE!
Expressing disappointment over the colossal disappointment of our Quisling In Chief does not mean that McCain would have been better.
No, but it's not like we have a Democrat in the White House now, either.

On the other hand, maybe this is a blessing in disguise. When the next bit of military outrage comes along, the next My Lai or Abu Ghraib, we can all truthfully claim it as the work of Our Heterosexual Military.
I share your frustrations with Obama. I just know that when push comes to shove I personally will never be able to cast a vote for a Republican President. And I would never not vote. So I am sincerely curious what you are planning to do for the 2012 election? Would you consider not voting? Or voting for a Third Party?
Again, I do not ask to be snarky. I am sincerely curious because this is a question I am struggling with myself.

Lack of snark noted.
Nobody in their right mind would be able to cast a vote for a Republican President. Nobody but the very rich and/or hopelessly cretinous do that.
We'll have to wait and see about an opposing candidate. I can never vote for Lyin' Barry again, under any circumstances. I may have to vote for a 3rd Party candidate in any future elections. If that means that the Republicans win, well then, so be it. They basically won in 2008, with their own little Meat Puppet Barack Obama -- the best Democratic pal the Republican Party has ever had.
Well if it's between Obama and a republican who's not fresh off the batshlt crazy boat and is seems willing to work for the country instead of against it, yes I would vote for them. I am still holding out hope that Hillary decides to run again, though.

All Republicans are fresh off the bat**** crazy boat -- haven't you been paying attention?
And let's not kid ourselves. Hillary'd do as Obama has done -- they're servants of the same masters.
Roscoe, I just don't know about that. I just have a feeling deep down in my boy parts that she would really change things.
How much longer can this nonsense go on before the populace has a meltdown? I have no respect for anyone in D.C. anymore. Absolutely nothing is getting accomplished and all so those dumb asses can keep their jobs "representing the people". I'm so disgusted. And not like my old radical disgust. This is damn near centrist disgust because even things that should be no-brainers are sinking. F*ck all of them.

Jordan, we all had that feeling about Obama, too. And look what happened.
Nothing changes in Mordor DC, except for the worst. Expect President Palin in 2012.
