I'm not sure how Hillary would do... I don't know if she would ever challenge a sitting President in a primary. I can't imagine the chaos/hysteria that that would cause within the Democratic Party. That would more or less guarantee a Republican victory.
I just can't imagine any Republican candidate (especially given the psycho's in Congress) who would fight to end things like DADT. And things like Marriage Equality hasn't even made its way to Congress yet.

Marriage Equality will never make its way to Congress. Ever. We can forget about that. Obama and his Masters will make damn sure that the Supreme Court does their dirty work for them.
Us faggots snd dykes are just going to have to be more patient, I guess. Maybe in a few years massa will let us be equal.
But seriously, at what point do we say "enough"? At what point do we not accept the lies and the using of our rights as political gains anymore and stand up and fight, and I mean FIGHT for what's rightfully ours? Because I'm telling you, a violent ass, no holds barred Washington DC protest be sounding mighty good to this Faggot right about now. We need to stop being seen as the complacent non confrontational minority that we've become to people and let them know this shlt ends NOW.
Right, but what I'm worried about is an effort from Congress to block whatever the Supreme Court does.

I'm with you on that, Jordan, and I'd go to a march in DC, but I don't think protesting or calling or anything else will do any good. Protests require an audience receptive to the message to be of any use at all, and it is just crystal bloody clear that President Barack Hussein Obigot and his vile minions in Mordor DC JUST DON'T GIVE A FU*CK.

Scott Brown voted against it, despite previous claims he would support the repeal.
Because those that voted no that could be a yes wanted things to go down a certain way--and they want the tax cuts to go through. It's such a mess in DC right now.

Don't be hating on the Republicans. It was a Democrat POTUS that signed DADT into law. You have a Democrat POTUS in office now who's had a favorable Congress for the last two years and still can't get the thing overturned.

It's gonna take another Civil Rights Movement in this country to get the equal rights that the LGBT community deserves.
The most dangerous thing about campaign promises like "hope" and "change" is that they can turn to "despair" and "cynicism" when the inevitable cycle of politics brings compromises and defeats.
DADT and DOMA will be overturned. Maybe not in our lifetimes but they will.
But what I'm really sad about is the dispiriting effect of all of this (and the economy) on the generation of kids who felt so hopeful during the 2008 election.
And on the generation of adults like iflit who felt hope renewed.

Trust me Goth, I have more than enough disgust for Clinton and Obama over DADT, and an equal amount of disgust over Obama in general, you won't be hearing me defend him at all. However, not a single Republican voted for cloture, NOT ONE! So...yes, "I'll be hating on the Republicans" with good reason.
And Collins' yes vote doesn't count, because she flipped the vote once she saw the measure wasn't going to pass. Which makes her even worse. Talk about being politically expedient...ugh!

Republicans never went after the gay vote. We're the party of Evangelicals and Sarah Palin, remember?
Perhaps all the splinter groups of the Democrat Party should peel off and form their own party?
"Republicans never went after the gay vote. We're the party of Evangelicals and Sarah Palin, remember?
Which is what? Something to be proud of?
You would think there might be a couple of Republicans who actually would do the right thing on occasion. It would have only taken 3.
"Perhaps all the splinter groups of the Democrat Party should peel off and form their own party?"
No...we'll leave that to the Republicans...I think they're going to have their hands full...with their beloved Tea Party.

Anyone know what the story is with the three non-voters?
Rachel Maddow reported that Blanche Lincoln was late getting back from the dentist. Really. Supposedly, she was a 'yes' vote.
She has got to use those government-supplied health care while she can!
Oh. The dentist. Right. I was at the dentist.

Goth opposes any bill to advance the rights of homosexuals- No to DADT, no to repealing DOMA.
I hope the next time he takes Mrs. Goth out to the theater, all the homos walk out and leave the four union stagehands standing there scratching their asses for an hour.
11th-HOUR DRAMA!
Susan Collins, Joe Lieberman, Mark Udall and Kirsten Gillibrand just introduced the standalone bill to repeal DADT.
Lieberman And Collins Introduce Stand-Alone DADT Repeal Bill
FYI - as a stand alone, this would need to go back to the House, but Pelosi is on record saying that it would easily pass. Also, Maddow reported that the text of the stand alone will be exactly what was in the defense bill, so there is nothing new regarding content. Also, there is some arcane 'rule 14' that they plan to invoke to bypass committee.
To be fair, Reid threw the bill to a vote suddenly--Lincoln had no idea and no notice that the vote would be happening when it did.
Frankly, I blame Reid for jumping the gun.
Ried might have thought this stand alone option was best, and knew the defense bill was doomed, but wanted the 'no' votes on the record.
That's definitely possible. Because surely he knew it was going to fail. And, now that I think about it, I heard someone saying that the real issues in the bill were monetary.
But it's not like the GOP won't spin it to say that the reason they didn't vote to support the troops was because of the homo part.
