After two years, today's Comic-Con panel finally debuted a few minutes of new footage from the upcoming third season! From the early listen courtesy of one panel-goer's audio recording, it sounds like everything we loved about the series will be back in full force for the next three episodes.
I'm going to be vague in describing the clip's contents for the sake of those who don't know the source materials well and prefer to remain unspoiled. I will simply say that it revolves around a major event in John's life, and a certain choice he has to make provides a very heartwarming moment. I only wish the legal entanglements would allow PBS to air it at the same time as the BBC airings, so those of us not in the UK don't have to avoid spoilers for months.
Fellow Sherlock fans, are you looking forward to Series 3?

It feels like the wait has been longer during this interval. I know that's because of some hobbits and melodramatic space people, but it has been so long. When I was first surprised that neither was nominated for an Emmy, I had to remind myself that this whole past year, there's been nothing for them to be nominated for.

Damn it, we deserve 4 episodes now!

Actually, Benedict Cumberbatch is nominated for an Emmy this year, just not for Sherlock.

Yeah, Benedict and Martin were both nominated last year for Series 2's "A Scandal in Belgravia" (not sure why the Emmys considered just one episode rather than the 3 as a miniseries) but both lost.

Sorry for the double post but thought I'd share the brief teaser that the BBC debuted yesterday. It's the first clips from Series 3, and the first new footage in nearly a year and a half.

I don't want to say it was worth the wait (because that was far too long), but it was of the fantastic quality I hoped for and have come to expect from this show. I adored every moment, and when it was over, it dawned on me that there are only two more episodes, then another excruciatingly long hiatus. The only reason I put up with this is because the show is that good.

I watched. Was on the edge of my seat during one particular scene. It was a fantastic episode.

I thought last night's episode was far better than the first. Moffat said they were going more for the funny this series and it's definitely the case. Nothing beats drunk Sherlock.

Can't believe it's already over next week.
