It's Virginia Tech, unless there was another one at UVA as well.

Everyone is freaking out here in Norfolk about it. In fact my school (Old Dominion) has just sent all students an e-mail that we they may cancel evening classes.

I have six former students studying down there. Three have called us to say that they're ok. Two were in the dorm where the shooting occurred. If I remember correctly, this is the second time there's been a shooting on this campus.

The AP is reporting 22 dead, 21 wounded and the gunman has been killed.

God, how terrible. I can't imagine how terrified the students and staff must be.

Apparently, a teacher was killed as well, or at least shot.

Dear god, there may have been 2 different gunmen b/c there were shootings at two opposite ends of the campus.
It's all breaking news, so this is not meant to be stated as fact though.
Also, there is a discrepancy as to whether or no the shooter was killed or not.

It is very sad!!! My sister is a sophomore there but was luckily home this morning. Another student from my high school who graduated two years ago was shot this morning but is doing well. It is hard to imagine this is happening just 30 minutes down the road from me. God bless them all!

This is HORRIBLE! I have friends that go there, too.
My prayers are with the campus and their families.

It's unthinkable. And the winds are so strong, the medical helicopters can't get there.
Apparently, one of the dorms had a problem with racist graffiti a few months ago that resurfaced this weekend. They don't know if that's related.

I go to school here.... I'm completely shocked and horrified, as is everyone that I've talked to. I've been able to get a hold of most of my close friends, but even so... I cannot believe this. I was in complete shock when they announced the death toll, and then I started crying. How is this happening?

Try to stay calm sweetsiren. The important thing is that you're ok. I know this must be traumatic for. My prayers are with you honey.

Those poor kids. Hang in there, sweetsiren.
"Impossible is just a big word thrown around by small men who find it easier to live in the world they've been given than to explore the power they have to change it. Impossible is not a fact. It's an opinion. Impossible is not a declaration. It's a dare. Impossible is potential. Impossible is temporary. Impossible is nothing.”

Fox News Banner at 1:15 "President Bush Reacts to School Shooting" and then Dana Perino was shown saying "...the President believes in the right to bear arms, but also in gun laws.."
Just glad Fox has its eye on what counts in these early moments.
And before anyone screams at me for "politicizing it", remember who ran the banner.

Did you see the video from a student outside the building? You can hear several gunshots. It's painful to listen to.

It's just... it was frightening from the beginning, but the early reports are NOTHING in comparison to the scope of what actually happened. When they announced that... god, I don't even know.
