The article indicated that the remake would be faithful to the times of original, which would be the same eras and ages. If so, the actresses should be 50something rather than 60something. So, I'd go with Jodie Foster as Jane and Joan Allen as Blanche.

Blanche is the older sister. Without getting into how young Peters could pass for, there's no way she's Kidman's younger sister.

If the thing is being done with even a little sense of the source material's camp value, I think Kidman is a non-starter. She has no sense of humor/irony that I've ever noticed.
