Oh well, if it's Rupert I"m ok with that. He's my favorite and I think he's the SWEETEST player who's ever been on the game.
They should bring back Grant and Mike and have them wrestle in oil each week.

To prove that once again I never feel the way the majorities do, but I kinda hate Rupert. I don't think I'm gonna watch again, though, so I don't really care.
The reunion wasn't as Russel-centric as I feared. I can't believe his ladies didn't get any screen time. Small favors, I guess.
And tonight gave me a chance to remember how I always think Amber Brkich Mariano is so pretty.
If it's Matt I am a little more OK with it as he didn't really have a fair game before. But I'd much rather them bring NO ONE back and STOP the stupid Redemption Island.
I think a good "twist" would be to have a season where for the first 4 or 6 cast-offs, there are NO TRIBE-VS-TRIBE challenges. Each of the first 2-3 shows are INDIVIDUAL TRIBE challenges with INDIVIDUAL immunity. THEN you go to the routine tribal immunity challenges leading up to the merge.
^^ interesting idea. I like that.
I'm actually not a big fan of Rupert, either. I don't DISLIKE him, necessarily, but, I'm really kind of done with him.
If they have to bring people back (an idea I wish they'd abandon), I hope they do something 'original' and not bring back the usual over-exposed suspects.
I wouldn't mind Matt returning.
I also think Amber is pretty. Always liked her.
I thought Rob came across really well during the final show.
And, I'm SO glad they didn't dwell too much on Russell. May that be the last time I ever have to see that man. Jeff didn't do his usual round of speaking with everyone. Some of them just sat there... which is fine, because that's pretty much what they did during the game.
I'm sure I'll tune in for the next season. I threaten not to, but then always see it through. But, glad this one is over.
I wish he would have spoken to Franquesqa.

Me too!
I could have lived without the Phillip federal agent nonsense tonight. Hey Survivor, you are the ones who put a question mark after "former federal agent." You created this stupid controversy. Don't trot out a woman who knew that he took a test once and act like you've done me a favor.
SO true!
That was a complete waste of time!

Dalton Ross of Entertainment Weekly agrees with most people. With "Nicaragua" and "Redemption Island" this wasn't the best year for "Survivor."

Ugh, so they're bringing back both redemption island and oxygen-sucking former contestants? I was always meh about Rupert, but his nonsense ego trip about "being a hero" last go around put me firmly in the anti camp. And if they bring Matt back, they might as well hire Pat Robertson as the host and move the show to TBN.
I guess Rob can donate a portion of his winnings to NOM now!

For the first time in several seasons I'm actually happy about who won - the person who most deserved it.
I didn't like RI this time - not thrilled it's coming back again. I don't see the point - someone struggles to stay alive and then, if they don't win immunity, is all but guaranteed to be voted right back out again. If they do win immunity and make it on, they didn't truly win anyway because THEY WERE VOTED OUT.
Not so thrilled about more people coming back - though if it's Stephanie I won't complain too much.

Russell landed his own reality show on A&E. My eyes are rolling.

ETA: I almost forgot to say that Rob was smart by bringing Natalie and Phillip to the final two. No one liked Phillip and Natalie really had no strategic game from the beginning.

I thought the proposal at the end of the show last night was kind of awkward, and for a minute there I thought she was going to say no.
Russell, yuck. With that pathetic look of disdain on his face.

I thought she was gonna say no, too! She REALLY seemed to want him to stop in his tracks.
Exactly.

I thought she was going to say no, too. It was totally awkward and she did not look happy at all. It was very very strange.
ETA: By the way, I'm very glad that Rob won. He deserved it 100%.

Rob absolutely deserved it. He entered the game with a huge target on his back and somehow managed to convince enough people to keep him around for a FOURTH shot at the million (and a wife who already won it). Yes, the other were dumbasses for not getting rid of him early on, but he knew how to play them and he did it well. I think the hidden immunity idol and winning individual immunity are the real reasons he ended up staying as long as he did. But he never really relied on them and that was key.
Please not Hagrid again. He was charming the first time around, but I got sick of him in the All Stars season. He was a mess. I could watch Stephenie or Cirie every season. I doubt we'll see Cirie again, but I really hope we get more Stephenie. It would make sense to bring Matt back. I honestly thought he would win Player of the Season. Much more deserving than that awful Jane person last season.
I wouldn't mind them bring back J.P.
Wouldn't mind that at all.
"I could watch Stephenie or Cirie every season."
Me too!! It sure would be a more interesting pair since one had awesome gameplay and the other was a challenge winning machine! I fear it'll be another angel/devil pairing and am worried it'll either be Rupert of the god awful "Coach". But, they were both terrible players...so maybe not. Unfortunately, the casting of those two players will determine if I sit another season out. Theres definitely a list of former players that I would boycott.
Yau-Man is a judge at this years Miss Pennsylvania Pageant the second week of June.
Cirie is one of the greatest social strategists Survivor has ever seen. I absolutely marveled at how she would just toss out an idea, make someone else believe it was theirs, have them do the dirty work, and nobody ever suspected her of being the mastermind.
And Stephenie blew my mind her first season. I was broken-hearted she and Cirie went home so early during Heroes Vs Villains.

My last post got lost. I'll post it again. I wish the Heores won the earlier challenges with puzzles at the beginning of the season. I rooted for Stephenie from the beginning of "Palau" and I was sad when she got voted off. However, I was happy that Tom Westman won that season. In "Guatemala" Stephenie played more like a villain by occasionaly backstabbing and lying. So, I wasn't completey surprised that she lost at the final tribal council. I hated the wasy James Clement treated her in "H vs. V." Courtney Yates was right when she told him that he should've been on the villains tribe. I never considered him as either a hero or a villain, but he proved to be a villain that season. I also heard that he got to be pn that season because Yau Man rejected the invitation. Rob should've been on the Heores tribe that season.
I really didn't like "Panama Exile Island." It was a lousy season and almost all of its entire cast had bad morals. It took some time for me to like Cirie. I liked her more in "Micronesia." In the delted voting secenes of "H vs. V" when Cirie voted off Stephenie she said that she wanted to play this game with her, but the co-members of Stephenie's allaince didn't give Cirie a chance until they felt threatened and it didn't make her or Candice feel secure.
