The thing that has become most offputting to me is not the questions from footage that Jeff asks at tribal council, but that these people answer him, playing their cards every single time. The mystery is gone and they all need to learn to SHUT UP.

True, although you know he'll berate them if they don't answer. Or he'll turn to someone (Rob) and say "What does it mean that _____ won't answer that?" I know we don't see everything at Tribal Council, but Jeff really seems to guide that conversation.
For me the biggest problem with this season is that Redemption Island is a dud. Had they ended it pre-jury, I'd have been OK with it, but the fact that someone has been voted out (and might be TWICE now) gets almost a pass to final tribal is ludicrous. If Matt makes it back, how can he even for a moment claim he beat Rob? Rob got him kicked out twice! Couple that with the fact that he got to spend more "quality time" with prospective jurors, and it seems like he could win very easily, given the incredible lack of strategy this season's contestants have shown.
If Rob loses to someone still in the game, I won't like it but I can accept it. If someone from Redemption Island wins, they need to cut the conceit and go back to just straight up Survivor.

Since Redemption Island is a part of the game, I'm of the mind that whatever happens is fair. It's nonsense, to be sure, but if Matt or any of the Island people wind up winning I think it's as fair as if someone who has played the game three times prior wins against people playing for the first time.
It's fair within the context of the game, but as game play it's a terrible idea. I wouldn't want to join a game knowing someone who has been eliminated TWICE has just as much (if not more than) a shot to win it as I do.
The part of it that to me isn't fair is yes, they knew about RI, but they STILL don't know when those people are coming back.
Part of the fun of Survivor is the PLANS. It cheapens the game that planning eliminations doesn't really MEAN anything this season.
It's the same reason I hate rebuys in poker tournaments - once you've been eliminated, that should be the end of the game for you. Even then, I've never seen a poker tourney with multiple chances at rebuying. Once I can understand (it's a way to get around ridiculous bad luck), but twice? -- just accept that you've lost and walk away.

Tonight I can't root for anyone other than Boston Rob. He first competed on this show even before I was in high school and then I watched him and Amber on their second season where they fell in love. I also enjoyed them on "The Amazing Race" and I had the pleasure of metting them both in late 2005, they were both very nice. I kind of felt bad for Rob when he was voted off in "Heroes vs. Villains," and he has played harder than anyone else this season.

God, I hope Rob doesn't win! He's horrible! If Rob wins tonight I might just put my boot through the screen.
I think he deserves to win. He played the physical game, the social game, and brought the right two to the final three with him: neither of the others deserves a penny. They're only there because Rob brought them along. (They sounded like idiots in their opening comments to the jury!)
I'm glad he played the hidden idol. Based on some earlier comments he made to the camera, I was concerned.
I can't imagine that the jury will award Phillip the win. The only reason the other one (what IS her name, anyway??) might win is if they really really don't want to give Rob the win. But she doesn't deserve the win.
We'll see.
(Glad this season is almost over. Agree with all comments here about Redemption Island, Jeff leading the Tribal Council and editing. Not winning!)
I HATE to say this, but Boston Rob played brilliantly. I HATE HIM and CAN'T STAND HIM, but I cannot justify giving it to any of the other two.
THE GIRLS COULD HAVE VOTED HIM OUT but instead they were IDIOTS.
Boston Rob definitely deserves to win. He got rid of the strategics and kept the idiots.
Agree with every word of David's 'speech'.
He's right. It's a GAME, and Rob played it brilliantly.
The people who think that you can win SURVIVOR by just making 'friends' along the way, and feel that they're 'above' telling lies are foolish. It requires out-witting and out-playing. Rob played it all the way..
He deserves the win.
Hope it turns out that way.
...and may he never return to the game.
In fact, may they never do another SURVIVOR with repeat players.
And may they get a new host. After this season, Jeff Probst has no credibility (IMO).
I couldn't bear to watch. Did the homophobe win?
Why do you say that Jeff has no credibility?
I felt he was more than partial towards Rob this season. He came off as an orchestrator, not a host.
The whole show has no credibility to me.
It's not that Rob was good at the game, it's that the others played as if they've never watched an episode of Survivor before - would anyone really trust him after watching past seasons and back stabbing one by one?
It's either rigged or the other players have no brain. It was all laughable.
To a certain degree, blaxx is right. Rob only won because most of the players were DUMB-ASS FOOLS. However, a large chunk of the reason why only dumb-ass fools remained left in the game near the end is because Boston Rob got rid of the smart ones early. Rob knew exactly who to keep and who to get rid of.
But I also agree that this season was UNFAIR. WHY should Russell and Rob have come back in the first place? That was really unfair to everyone else. Russell and Rob came in with HUGE advantages. But then we're back to the argument where these DUMB-ASS FOOLS didn't get rid of them (well, one).
And I don't think Jeff Probst was an orchestrator at all. If anything, this season his commentary chose words which made him seem like a fan of Rob (which he obviously is).
Somebody shut Russell and Phillip up.
Please.
I'm glad Probst addressed the fact that people weren't too thrilled with his comments this season. Hopefully he takes that into consideration from now on.
And HOLY. GOD. Grant IS SO FVCKING HOT. Look at that man sitting there in those suspenders only a few blocks from me. I'm tempted to run over and attack.

Jeff said that "All Stars" WAS Rob's season. Jeff has been his #1 supporter since "Marquesas."
MATT is sooooo hot!!
I can't flippin' believe they're doing Redemption Island again AND bringing two more people back AGAIN.

^ My guess is it's going to be Matt and Rupert Boheman. Rupert said he would play the again. However, I hope Stephenie Lagrossa comes back.

Oh well, if it's Rupert I"m ok with that. He's my favorite and I think he's the SWEETEST player who's ever been on the game.
They should bring back Grant and Mike and have them wrestle in oil each week.
