No big surprises except maybe for Taj going out 4th instead of 3rd (which cost Stephen her vote). With JT winning the immunity challenges, there was no way he could lose, since no one else out of the top four could beat him. Stephen stood the best chance, but he blew it big time by 1) taking out Taj early and 2) not knowing how to play the jury. Debbie's question should not have been a surprise and it was something Stephen had already been thinking about. Even if he wanted to take Erinn to the final 2, the ridiculous LOYALTY and HONESTY banners were waving furiously (always a focus in the final tribal and always irrelevant). He just needed to blurt out a quick, "I made a pact with JT from the beginning and I always intended to take him to the end". Period. Stephen let the jury knock him off balance by not being prepared. And with regards to Brendan, he totally threw it all away when he allowed Brendan to assume that physical strength was the only admirable trait in the game.
But in the end, JT did deserve to win. He was better in challenges and he was a better strategist, often playing Stephen without Stephen being aware, and with moments like the Coach ousting, he was able to keep his word AND get rid of someone he wanted out.
I'm glad the Coach-a-thon is over at last. And I am really looking forward to Survivor Samoa. I always love it when they go to tropical islands.
