With Brendan gone... I just don't know who to give a damn about. Stephen and Taj still have my support, I suppose.
Coach makes me vomit.

I was about to give up on this season, because the majority of the castaways were either boring (Stephen, Sierra, Erinn, JT) or completely unlikeable (Coach, Tyson).
Then....the boring people finally got their sh*t together and made something interesting happen tonight.
The look on Coach's face was PRICELESS. What will he do without his beloved assistant coach? I can't wait for him to go, though I'd feel sorry for the people in Ponderosa who would have to listen to him regale them all with his various tall tales of survival in the jungle.
Speaking of Coach, did anyone catch Probst making fun of him tonight? Probst totally hates him. After losing yet another challenge, Probst said to him, "Coach, all these life experiences you have, and you still haven't won a challenge." Loved it!

Posted: 4/24/09 at 8:11amI agree, PRS. He was one of the most obnoxious, arrogant, self-aggrandizing people on the show. Only slightly less hateable than Coach.

Tyson was literally unlikeable. As in, there was NOTHING likeable about him. The only drawback to his exit was that it didn't happen sooner and we have to tolerate his presence on the jury. I did love his and coach's reactions when they discovered their plan was not impenetrable. And Debbie was getting a bit smug as well. It will be interesting to watch Debbie and Coach sweat and scramble a bit. Looks like Coach does a pretty poor job from the preview, the way he was demanding to know about Sierra's loyalties.
And Tyson's comment at the end about being outfoxed by an idiot? I don't get the vibe that Sierra's an idiot so much as everyone badly wants an idiot in their midst and elected Sierra. Maybe it's the editing, but I haven't seen her do anything more idiotic than Coach or Tyson thus far. I hope she wins immunity. And I hope Coach is next to go.

Arguably my favorite Survivor episode of all time.
Coach is a complete hypocrite. He said before the game began and at tribal council that he wanted to go up against the best competitors but then votes Brendan off. He also admitted that Sierra was a better and tougher competitor than Erinn, but then told Sierra that she had to go because she made a mistake.
He also talks about being such a warrior and fighting until the end, but then he sits out of the immunity challenge and tells Sierra that if he were her, he would just quit.
I honestly have a hard time believing that there is actually a human being as whacked out as this guy. I still don't know whether I want him to be voted out or stay on so I can see more of him. He REALLY fascinates me.

It was a pretty good episode, but nothing this season comes close to the Sugar cookie episode last season. That was one of the all-time greats. Everything that happened in that episode was magnificent. And the episode in the Fans vs Favorites when Cirie came up with the idea of having whatshisname give up the immunity idol was awesome as well. Especially when you factor in the idol hijinks that had preceded it.
He said before the game began and at tribal council that he wanted to go up against the best competitors but then votes Brendan off.
I loved how Probst brought that up and Coach sort of spat out more dragon-babble in an effort to justify his motives in a way that made sense only to himself. Taj's reaction to the Coach gibberish was priceless!
Coach doesn't fascinate me so much that he totally nauseates me. At least he's slightly more entertaining to have around than Tyson.

Totally agree. That Randy elimination was the best tribal council..EVER!

I'm so happy Tyson is finally gone! He was a complete jerk; I couldn't find a single thing about him that made him even remotely watchable. I think adamgreer said it best: this season is finally starting to get interseting. I hope the rest of the season are more like this episode.
That Randy elimination was the best tribal council..EVER!
That was a great Tribal. The moment where Crystal shouted her goodbye message to Randy so everyone could hear her is one of my favorite Survivor moments.

Posted: 5/1/09 at 8:25amUgh. Not taking out Debbie was such a stupid move. There truly was no real advantage to getting rid of Sierra at this point. J.T. was pretty shrewd manipulating Stephen that way to get rid of Sierra. You don't vote someone off because they "create too much drama". Especially when it's clear Sierra wasn't creating the drama. Coach and Debbie hold all the blame for that. And what was up with Erinn's vote for Stephen?!?! Is she trying to shift focus to Stephen? Or send him a warning? She's clearly putting a target on her back. J.T.'s obviously playing both sides if he wasn't willing to vote out Debbie. Is Erinn trying to let everyone know she's going to be a swing vote somehow?

Matt, the only thing I can figure is that Erinn specifically told Sierra in this episode she wouldn't write her name down. Maybe she'd made a similar promise to Debbie?
Someone needs to stuff a pair of dirty underdrawers into Coach's mouth.

I do think Erinn (who was so mean to Sierra last week) was keeping the promise to not write her name down.
Stupidest move yet not getting rid of Debbie.
She has the same plastic surgeon as Tina.
I loved how the "professional woman" and school principal used the word "supposably".

Posted: 5/1/09 at 10:30amI liked that she was reduced to tears when Sierra told her they didn't have the numbers. And when she was reduced to tears when she was called out on being a liar.

I loved how she said "that's not how I remember it". It was a few hours ago! How bad is your memory that you forget lying.

doodle, I noticed that "supposably" too.
Now that Coach has no power and is just utterly laughable, JT is officially my least favorite person in the game. If he aw shucks his way to a million dollars, I will find his farm and tip every one of his cows.

Posted: 5/1/09 at 10:38amAhhh...I forgot about Erinn's promise to Sierra. It all makes sense now. She didn't want to cause a tie and she probably felt Stephen would be the more forgiving of the three she had to choose from. Debbie really turned into a raging bitch and behaved exactly the way she accused Sierra of behaving when she talked down to her. It must be the editing or something, but I could not understand all the Sierra hate going on this week. Other than Coach and Debbie's sour grapes from losing Tyson, but it was very clear Sierra knew absolutely nothing about it. Then they get caught in a lie trying to set up Sierra as a master manipulator and STILL everyone boots Sierra. That was a DUMBASS move. Right now, J.T. seems to be the front-runner. If he sticks with Coach and Debbie, he will surely win. But in order to do so, he will have to figure out how to boot Erinn, Taj and Stephen, which is not going to be the easiest feat. Stephen really stood a chance at winning this game, but he really blew it last night and didn't appear to stop and think about the conversation that moved the vote from Debbie to Sierra. It simply wasn't logical.
