Well I'm 40 minutes in and I can tell why Mariah is pissed. She isn't the star, Nicki and Keith command the camera. I'm calling it now. Mariah is a 1 season judge.

I don't know, I feel like the show jumped the shark.I changed the channel. Maybe it'll get better with time.

It was fine when it was about one judge but then it suddenly became ALL about the judges.

Hmm. What should I do at nights? Watch a show that is now only for teeny-boppers who only vote for good looking guys or work towards getting my degree. I think I'll focus on my degree. Ratings and viewership were not so great last night either.

The Midnight Sun in San Francisco has shown every season until now. Not a good sign when you can't even get the gays on board.

David Cook is the only one of the five "White guys with Guitar" that I enjoyed. I really did not want to buy music from the four that won after him.

Yeah, David Cook is probably the only good WGWG. granted, he was the first.
I liked the show. Especially since they had a WGWG with a sob story AND a Taylor Swift wannabe, whom JLo and Steven Tyler unfortunately always LOVED, and they told them both no. Made me very happy that the usual finalists didn't even make it past the auditions.

I never get the "AI is not what it once was" or "AI has jumped the shark" complaints that happen every. year. like clockwork. For the last 6-7 seasons. Does it jump the shark every year? At the end of the day, its the ONLY singing show that produces successful artists.

How has the show jumped the shark? It's the exact same overly produced "reality" competition it's been since (to be fair) Season 2.

Seriously I think that's why there is the "shark jumping stench" on it. It's the same show. Every year. I know they can't always "discover" a burning white-hot hunk of talent like David Archuleta every year but can anyone even name last years winner?

Yes, for me it has jumped the shark, judging from last night. I have never said it before, and have always been a supporter of the show. Watched every single season, every episode, so no, I don't say it every year.
Instead of seeing a plethora of contestants, good singers or bad, I saw teenaged fake feuds going on between the women, judges and nothing at all forthcoming from the men judges. BORING. And yes, it does seem to be more about the judges than the singers. I changed the channel for the first time.
I also mentioned in another post that maybe it'll improve with time.
