"Remember WENN" on AMC. This wonderful show DID succeed and NEVER flamed out - it was simply killed by a new owner of the station who didn't personally like it. He replaced it with a bomb that did disappear before a single season.

I have dreams that they'll put the others on DVD. Mary Stout (a regular on the show) told me that they're still trying to get that done. They get plenty of promises but no real action yet. They've even talked about doing a movie version of the show!

"High Society" Mary McDonnell and Jean Smart...it was a blast. Great writing, and they were both hysterical. Lived hardly a season and not sure why.

"NewsRadio." A wonderful ensemble, all of whom had crack comedy timing. It was finished off by Phil Hartman's senseless murder, of course, but even at its peak, it never got the ratings, fans, or acclaim it should have gotten--and it didn't last nearly long enough.

I liked Less Than Perfect. it had a great cast with lots of chemistry, and mostly good writing (although the quality did trail off towards the end).

OntheAisle, I agree with HOMEFRONT.

One of the best shows of all time. I think it may have lasted more than one season. It was perfect...from the casting to the storylines to the mood and feel. I was in love with this show.

I also loved Savannah!

Anyone remember ALL IS FORGIVEN with Bess Armstrong, Carol Kane, Shawnee Smith, and David Alan Grier? Were talkin' 86-87 here, folks. It was an absolutely wonderful mid-season replacement, really on a par with CHEERS and GOLDEN GIRLS, and I was always surprised it wasn't picked up by NBC.

There was also a fun sitcom in the late nineties with Debi Mazar and Joanna Gleason called TEMPORARILY YOURS which was good fun.

I liked the first season of "Boomtown." Not so much when they reformatted it for the second season.

"High Society" Mary McDonnell and Jean Smart...it was a blast. Great writing, and they were both hysterical. Lived hardly a season and not sure why."

Because it was a rip-off of Absolutely Fabulous. It was also competing against "Cybill" which was a rip-off of Absolutely Fabulous. And Jean Smart's character was skeevy the way she kept hitting on McDonnell's teenage son.
