How does WW work anyway?
I personally never bothered with that for eating habits and exercise, I just counted calories and the carb/protein/fat percentages, while lifting weights and/or running.
Is it anyhting similar? Is like 100 calories = 1 point or something? Is X amount of grams of fat more points? I dunno, I'm just curious how it works.
I am alreyad very used to just calorie counting and at, below or above (when gaining muscle) and pay attention to keeping fat percentage down to 20%, protein 30-40% and carbs the remaining percent. Then of course we all know how important exercise is... so although it sucks sometimes, gotta do that.
My mom did weight watchers (I think at least, lol), and never bothered asking how it worked.
So to those who do it, just explain... just wanna know what it involves and all that.

ty jrb... and actually one thing, I remember my mom mentioning the fact that the meetings and being around people while doing this was bad. I forget whether it got too friendly or maybe too competitive or embarassing or what, but it seemed the whole group thing was a negative.
Anyone wanna share their thoughts on that aspect of WW?? I really wish I could remember what my mom felt about it, but I just know she did have some type of negative opinion towards it and WW as a whole because of that, which made her (and others) leave.
I dunno... sorry for the vagueness... but best I can do.

well, I only do it online, and I have a couple of friends who do it---and that is great for support and advice, as is this thread.
The site lets you track your food each day. Very handy.

congrats to those who are doing well! Encouragement to those who feel stalled or are just starting!
I somehow lost ten pounds, as the scale tells me. I dunno how.

Posted: 12/2/05 at 7:05amAmazing Undi! You look fab! I've stalled after losing 25 lbs. The needle on the scale hasn't budged up or down in two weeks. But, I've been integrating a lot of "regular" food into my diet so I guess it's a good thing. This is a healthy weight for me, but I'm greedy and want to lose 10 more.

And with it being the holiday season, do not deny yourself the ability to indulge in some of the goodness around you. But do take caution to not overdo it...
The plateaus are always difficult. But don't lose sight of the goal!

You should check out their web site

It's the best thing I have ever done. I don't even feel like I am on a "diet". And, I'm gonna stay on it through Christmas. It's New Year's Eve and Day that I am going to pig out like a freak.

I've crashed and burned lately. I gained back about 12 lbs of the 55 I lost.
I know this week is a wash (even though I'm TRYING to balance it out at breakfast and lunch), but I really want a fresh start in '06.
Can I use this thread to whine when I need to?
Happy Holidays, fellow WWers!
